Troye Sivan is showing off his body and proudly proclaiming his positive self-image ahead of the release of his upcoming album, "Something to Give Each Other."

However, despite the "Youth" singer's best intentions to share positivity, he was met with some backlash and criticisms online.

"I like my body and I think that makes some people uncomfortable," Sivan wrote on his Instagram Story following the release of the tracklist of the new album, which features his nude body as the background.

"Don't ask me about this in interviews. I don't want to talk about it unless I want to talk about it, which I think is fair. Ty."

This is not the first the singer slash YouTube star slash actor had to defend his creative choices against online critics.

Troye Sivan on Controversial 'Rush' Music Video

According to reports, Sivan responded to criticisms about his first single, "Rush" back in July after its release, due to the graphic imagery portrayed in the music video.

On top of that, some people complained about the lack of diversity in the "Rush" music video.

"I definitely hear the critique," Sivan told Billboard. "To be honest, it just wasn't a thought we had - we obviously weren't saying, 'We want to have one specific type of person in the video.' We just made the video, and there wasn't a ton of thought put behind that."

As per Sivan, the music video was to promote body positivity, which was why the backlash saddened him.

"That really bummed me out to read that - because I've had my own insecurities with my body image. I think that everyone's body is as beautiful as it is, including my own, and it just sucks to see people talking about other people's bodies."

The upcoming album is set to be released on Oct. 13, reports say. As of this writing, the singer has released two singles in support of the album, "Rush" and "Got Me Started."
