Shortly after the release of Olivia Rodrigo's chart-topping lead single "Vampire," she released the second single "Bad Idea Right?," but apparently it took a lot of convincing from her co-writer and producer.

"I definitely lost a lot of hair because of that. My favorite song, I was outvoted deeply on," revealed Dan Nigro, the singer's co-writer and producer for the new album, "GUTS."

"I was literally like standing on an island by myself being like, 'bad idea, right, bad idea, right'," he recalled.

"Everyone's like, 'Vampire'! I mean, I get it, actually, why 'Vampire' would work better, but I still, was just really excited about 'Bad Idea, right?' and everybody seeing the more sarcastic side of Olivia that I don't think was really apparent on 'Sour.'"

Olivia Rodrigo's 'Bad Idea Right?'

According to reports, Rodrigo released "Bad Idea Right?" on Aug. 11, a month before she released the album, and it showed off a completely different vibe from her first single, which was a mix between a ballad and a rock song.

Fans took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share their thoughts on the song, and compared it to "Vampire."

"He's so real bc 'Vampire' had no business being the lead single," a fan wrote.

"I think vampire was the way to reassure us what direction this album was going. Punk Rock was vibe and it didn't feel to outta left field from sour. Which is smart [in my opinion]."

"He was praying on her downfall omg...." Another added.

Other fans even suggested other songs from the album, "Y'all are real dumb. 'Get Him Back!' was the best and obvious choice and anyone with common sense would've seen that."

Olivia Rodrigo, Dan Nigro Talk About Making 'GUTS'

After the release of her highly anticipated sophomore album, Rodrigo shared what it was like making it during an intimate one-off show in Las Vegas earlier this week.

"We cried just because we were frustrated. We were really toiling," the singer shared during the concert.

"Most of the recording is you crying," Nigro added in.

Other details from creating the album included the revelation that Rodrigo almost did not include "The Grude" on the standard edition of the album; she was contemplating switching it out for "Obsessed," a song from the vinyl-exclusive version of the album.
