Shane MacGowan, who has been struggling with his health issues for the past year, took his time to pray for others, too.
The Pogues singer worried fans when he was rushed to a medical facility in December 2022 and began his battle with health conditions afterward. He was also in an intensive care unit when his best friend Sinead O'Connor died.
Amid his own battles, MacGowan thought of others who were affected by the global conflict.

MacGowan's wife, Victoria Clarke, has been sharing updates with the musician's fans online. Most recently, she posted on his social media pages and unveiled a heartfelt message from the "Dirty Old Town" singer.
"Shane is praying for peace and love [heart emoji] for everyone in the world @ShaneMacGowan @poguesofficial," she captioned the post alongside of photo of MacGowan smiling while staying in his hospital bed.
Meanwhile, Twitter users also left heartwarming comments under the post to wish MacGown well, too.
The Ireland China Institute said, "God Bless You Shane. You are and always have been my inspiration, and for your works and contributions, you deserve the nobel prize."
"Hope you get well soon Shane. Your music touches us so deeply," one added.
Clarke shared another post on October 3 saying that MacGowan was looking bright and feeling determined to get home. She also thanked the doctors, nurses and staff who had been caring for him and visiting him.
What Happened to Shane MacGowan?
It remains unknown what kind of diseases MacGowan has, but he previously revealed in an Instagram video that his December 2022 hospitalization was caused by encephalitis. It occurs when a person's brain becomes inflamed, and the rare brain condition can be fatal.
"The light is killing me [...] but I wanted to wish you a Happy New Year and Happy Christmas. And many more, and all the luck in the world and all the love. Happy Christmas and Happy New Year, love Shane," he wrote after confirming his disease.
MacGowan has also started using a wheelchair since 2015 after breaking his pelvis. The "The Body of an American" crooner also had oral health and dentistry complications over the past few years.
In 2016, he was hospitalized again due to hip pain and pneumonia.
