Taylor Swift's past romance with Harry Styles received a spotlight after the re-release of her "1989" album.

The "1989 (Taylor's Version)" officially arrived on Friday, October 27, and served as the fourth re-recorded album by Swift. It followed "Fearless (Taylor's Version)," "Red (Taylor's Version)" and "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)."

Following the new release, she caused a rare word to appear on Google's trending searches by including it on one lyric from her vault tracks.

One of the all-new songs that made it to the cut is "Is It Over Now?" - a track believed to be about her and Styles' brief romance.

After listening to the track, Swifties started searching for the meaning of the word "surmise" after singing it in the lyric: "Let's fast forward to three hundred awkward blind dates later (Oh) // If she's got blue eyes, I will surmise that you'll probably date her (Oh, no) // You dream of my mouth before it called you a lying traitor (Oh) // You search in every model's bed for somethin' greater, baby."

One fan shared the "Anti-Hero" singer's influence and impact by uploading a screenshot of a Google trend page showing the word taking over the search queries on the platform.

One fan added, "wait surmise is a word i thought taylor made up the word 'assumize.'"

"Welcome to another 'Learning new words with Taylor Swift' WHAT THE F--- IS "SURMISE"?!?! (im dumb. I know)," one wrote, while another added, "Every time I think I understand English well enough, miss Taylor Swift proves me wrong. Like HELLO wtf is surmise?????"

What Does Surmise Mean?

Google cites the definitions from Oxford Languages and describes the word "surmise" as "suppose that something is true without having evidence to confirm it" and "a supposition that something may be true, even though there is no evidence to confirm it."

Meanwhile, Merriam-Webster says "surmise" is "to form a notion of from scanty evidence."

It remains unknown whether Swift is truly singing about her relationship with Styles in the track. However, Swifties have found lyrical references and clues that some of the tracks are about Haylor.
