Taylor Swift's "1989 (Taylor's Version)" is perhaps the most highly-anticipated re-recording out of all of her stolen albums to date. Based on the recent projections that Luminate and Hits Daily Double have released, it seems like the album is heading toward another record-breaking release.

To date, this is Taylor Swift's second released album this year, with "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" being the last one released in July 2023.

Taylor Swift '1989 (Taylor's Version)' Opening Week Sales

According to early numbers recorded by Luminate, on its first day alone, Taylor Swift's "1989 (Taylor's Version)" has already sold a quarter of a million copies.

Meanwhile, streaming for "1989 (Taylor's Version)" is massive. It was reported by Luminate that all of the songs from the album collectively earned more than 10 million on-demand official audio streams on the first day of release in the United States alone.

To secure its top spot on next week's Billboard Charts, Hits Daily Double projects "1989 (Taylor's Version)" at No. 1, with a staggering opening week sales of 1.45 million to 1.55 million album-equivalent units, composed of 300,000 to 350,000 streaming units alone.

Taylor Swift Album Discography

Taylor Swift's "1989 (Taylor's Version)" has already secured its place at the top next week. Once it was officialized, it would be her 13th No. 1 album.

All of Taylor Swift's albums, excluding her debut album, have debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 charts.

So far, if the projections come to fruition, "1989 (Taylor's Version)" will become her biggest-selling re-recording so far.

"Red (Taylor's Version)" is the highest to date with 905,000 album units on its debut frame, followed by "Fearless (Taylor's Version)" with 737,000, then "Speak Now (Taylor's Version) with 507,000.

"1989 (Taylor's Version)" would also become her sixth album to debut at the million mark. If she pulls everything together, Taylor might seal her biggest opening week so far by an album.

She would have to perform a little bit better than her "Midnights" release, which saw her a debut of 1.578 million album units in its opening week.

In comparison to the first release, Taylor Swift's "1989" opened to 1.287 million album units, but that was before the streaming era was at its peak.
