Ariana Grande's Drummer Aaron Spears Dead at 47

Ariana Grande's drummer Aaron Spears has died at the age of 47, his wife confirmed.

Spears' wife, Jessica, confirmed the heartbreaking loss in a statement on social media on Monday, October 30. The musician, aside from Grande, also worked with other icons, including Usher.

In an Instagram post, Jessica paid tribute to her husband as she expressed her gratitude for the life she shared with him.

"Aaron was not only an incredibly accomplished drummer admired by many for his unparalleled talent and passion for music, but he was also a devoted father to our precious son, August," she said. "His love, guidance, and warmth were the pillars of our family, and his absence leaves a void that words cannot describe."

Jessica also shared how blessed they were to have him in their lives, telling everyone that his legacy will live on even after his death.

She ended her post by asking for privacy as they go through a heartbreaking phase in their lives.

Spears' cause of death remains unknown as of press time, but he was still able to celebrate his birthday on October 26 days before his passing. The family has also yet to share funeral and memorial details.

Grande left a comment on the post before sharing a separate tribute on her Instagram Story.

"Always the kindest, always smiling, I am so honoured and thankful that our paths crossed and to have spent so much very special time together. Thank you for your utter brilliance, for our laughs, and for your kindness always. i will miss your hugs. You are so, so loved and will be so very missed," the "7 Rings" singer said.

Who Was Aaron Spears?

Aside from Grande, Spears also worked with Miley Cyrus, Jordin Sparks, 'Lil Wayne, Chaka Khan, Adam Lambert, The Backstreet Boys, May Mary and Lady Gaga.

In 2004, he scored a Grammy nomination for his work on Usher's album, "Confessions."

"I can't believe this....." Questlove said.

"I have no words. I love you so much my brother and will miss you," Travis Barker wrote. "This doesn't seem real. Praying for you Jessica and August."

Spears also notably made several appearances on the episodes of "Late Night with Seth Meyers" Season 5.
