Charli D'Amelio is a content creator who rose to prominence after becoming a TikTok sensation, and while the Internet already knows her, they are not too sure what exactly she does.

According to reports, the TikTok star slash influencer received flak for "working" at Walmart. She, along with her sister, Dixie D'Amelio, shared pictures of themselves wearing cashier vests at Walmart to promote their new popcorn brand.

"I feel like this makes a mockery of the working-class jobs but okay...."

"Yasss cosplaying the working class."

"Why do rich people always try so hard to be relatable?"

"Look at what poor people have to do to survive, let's make a video about it," another added.

Charli D'Amelio Launches Career

It seems like D'Amelio is determined to expand her empire and work towards total domination in all fields of business, like other celebrities like Kim Kardashian or Selena Gomez.

Like Kardashian, the TikTok star has a reality show that follows her life as well as her family's life; and like Gomez, she has launched her music career-but it has not taken off yet.

D'Amelio released "If You Ask Me To" on Oct. 27, 2022, but failed to release a follow-up song to her debut single.

"The latest thing that I've been working on quietly is music. I went to the recording studio a few times to work on singing and it was on my terms, which was really nice," she said during her confessionals.

"As of right now, it's just easier [not to tell anyone] because I trust myself and my parents that I keep it between just us. I even wanted to keep it from Dixie."

So no one is certain if the influencer is working on new music, but if she is, she most definitely is not about to tell anyone about it any time soon.

Charli D'Amelio Magnet For Criticisms

This is not the first time D'Amelio and her sister have received criticism from netizens.

However, this time around, they have seemingly struck a cord, and they are not the first celebrities to do so.

According to Forbes Magazine, Lana Del Rey received backlash for working at a Waffle House in Alabama, while Ed Sheeran staffed at The Wieners Circle, selling hotdogs in August. Back in 2017, Lady Gaga worked at Starbucks for charity.
