Ringo Starr had a backup plan if ever The Beatles only lasted for a week.
In 1960, the world met The Beatles after the rock band members - Starr, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and John Lennon-formed the group in Liverpool. Their first album immediately opened the doors for them to become the most influential band of all time.
But Starr did not expect the group to grow big.
Ringo Starr Thought The Beatles Would Only Last a Week
Over six decades after The Beatles arrived in the industry, Starr reflected on their career as a group and revealed that all members never thought they would last as long as they did.
Speaking with The Sunday Times, he expressed how stunned he is that they lasted a long time that they made backup plans if ever they faced disbandment as soon as they hit the stage.
"Paul was going to write, I was going to open a hairdresser's, George would get a garage," he revealed. "But it went on and then it ended. And at the right time, I think. But, you know, that didn't stop us playing with each other."
Meanwhile, McCartney shared a different perspective and told the news outlet that they estimated to last for only 10 years since it is the maximum span for a rock and roll group to last.
Starr was also surprised that they were able to garner billions of streams in 2022 alone despite their split in 1970.

John Lennon Would Love The Beatles' New Song
After a long wait, The Beatles released the band's last song before Lennon's death. The track, titled "Now And Then," arrived on November 2 after the surviving members worked on it for years. McCartney and Starr completed it years after Harrison's death on November 29, 2001, following his cancer battle.
The pair reportedly used technology to use Lennon's demo recording as clearly as possible.
"There it was, John's voice, crystal clear. It's quite emotional," McCartney said. "And we all play on it, it's a genuine Beatles recording. In 2023 to still be working on Beatles music, and about to release a new song the public haven't heard, I think it's an exciting thing."
Lennon's wife, Yoko Ono, gave the recording clip to the three members in 1994.
