Who will replace Jay Weinberg in Slipknot after his exit?

Slipknot has lost two members this year after Weinberg and Craig Jones left only a few months apart. The drummer, 33, was the latest to leave the group, with Slipknot confirming his departure through an official statement on its website on Sunday, November 5.

As the group continued without Weinberg, fans started to become curious about who would replace the drummer in the group.

Who Will Replace Jay Weinberg in Slipknot?

Loudwire named all six drummers who can potentially follow in Weinberg's footsteps: Simon Crahan, Stone Sour's Roy Mayorga and Joel Ekman, Corey Taylor's drummer Dustin Robert, SikTH's Dan Foord and Suffocation's Dave Culross.

Culross worked together with Slipknot's Mick Thomson on Malevolent Creation's "Deliver My Enemy" track off its 10th album, "Doomsday X."

Meanwhile, the two Stone Sours members both worked with the Slipknot frontman following the band's formation.

Foord made it to the list after previously working with V-Man in Krokodil and playing in the group's three albums.

On the other hand, Taylor's touring drummer also played in his two solo albums, "CMFT" and "CMF2." Robert also notably played some Slipknot songs live.

Lastly, Crahan took the spotlight since he is the son of Slipknot's founding member, Clown. He said in 2022 that he is a better drummer than his father, so he is likely to become a strong candidate to replace Weinberg.

Still, this should be taken with a grain of salt as Slipknot has not shared any details regarding the replacement.

Jay Weinberg Leaves Slipknot

Slipknot issued a statement confirming that Wenberg would no longer be with the members after 10 years of playing in the band.

"No one can ever replace Joey Jordison's original sound, style or energy, but Jay honored Joey's parts and contributed to the last three albums and we, the band, and the fans appreciate it," the band continued.

Slipknot shared the statement on Instagram, as well, but has since deleted the post.

Weinberg became part of Slipknot's tours to support three of their albums: "The End, So Far," "We Are Not Your Kind" and "The Gray Chapter" after joining Slipknot to replace Jordison, who exited the group in 2013 years before his death in 2021.

The founding member left at that time due to "personal reasons," while Jordison soon revealed in a Facebook post that he did not quit Slipknot.
