Speaking exclusively to Variety, Olivia Rodrigo shared that she wrote the film's lead single "Don't Catch Me Now" with a specific scene from the film in mind.
"One of the last scenes was very inspiring to me. I don't know how to describe it without giving too much away! It's an overhead shot of a bunch of birds in the trees, and something very important just happened," Rodrigo described carefully.
According to the acclaimed songwriter, that specific scene was "playing a loop" in her head "over and over."
"and I was like, 'I want to write a song that captures what that feeling is.' That was the goal," she recalled.
