Before filing a lawsuit against the US Bureau of Prisons, R. Kelly, who is currently in jail, reportedly asked for $1 million from the government agency.
This came after his private details were allegedly exposed to an online blogger.
R. Kelly Is Suing From Prison
R. Kelly's attempt to resolve a lawsuit with a seven-figure payout became public knowledge when he filed a complaint on November 13, 2023, claiming that Bureau of Prisons staff had illegally accessed his records, emails, phone conversations, and visitor logs.
An internal investigation backed up his accusations.
Latasha Kebe, better known as Tasha K, possesses information allegedly obtained from documents connected to an investigation conducted by Special Agent Matt Loux of the US Department of Justice's Inspector General's Office.
This particular inquiry is related to charges brought against a singer accused of child pornography and enticement, who is currently serving a 20-year sentence at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago. The alleged offender claims that approximately 60 prison workers have breached his right to privacy in this case.
R. Kelly was confident he held the key to a fast fortune, yet his attempt to obtain it through BOP brass came up fruitless. The court documents disclosed and obtained by Radar Online that a notice of claim was filed by him on November 14, 2022 under FTCA (Federal Tort Claims Act), asking for at least one million dollars in reparations.
The North Central Regional Office of the Federal Bureau of Prisons had notified the disgraced singer's counsel via certified mail on June 15, 2023, that his claim had been denied in writing.
This event caused the "Ignition" singer, whose real name is Robert Sylvester Kelly, to experience emotional distress as he felt unable to communicate openly with his attorneys, leading him to seek damages through legal action.

R. Kelly's Lawsuit
The lawsuit addressed the emotional strife of the aggrieved party, citing that they "spent sleepless nights, riddled with confusion and distress, wondering how their private conversations had been exposed to public scrutiny and who was behind it."
In the ongoing case against her, Tasha K refuted any wrongdoing and stated that the email tip that led to her being sued by rap artist Cardi B had come from an anonymous source.
R. Kelly has been embroiled in a great deal of personal and legal turmoil for some time now.
It was also revealed that private details about his family life, health problems, and defense strategies were leaked online.
Shockingly, he was recently convicted on racketeering and sex trafficking charges in New York and sentenced to 30 years in prison.
A lawsuit has been filed in Illinois federal court to hold responsible parties accountable. This legal action will be supported by evidence found during Agent Loux's investigation, which suggested that Unknown BOP Officer A had violated protocol in accessing Plaintiff's TruView records - taking it further by stealing and distributing information to Defendant [Tasha K].
It was disclosed that the accused had given away confidential and pilfered facts to members of the public and certain third parties, such as Jane Doe. It is asserted with reasonable certainty that the details were purchased by Tasha K and a few other unidentified people from Officer A - an employee of an undisclosed organization known as BOP.
