Father of Taylor Swift's Fan Who Died at Eras Tour Breaks His Silence; Says Someone Will Be Punished

The father of Taylor Swift's fan who died from cardiac arrest broke his silence on the tragedy as he vowed that someone should be punished for her death.

Ana Clara Benevides Machado, 23, was attending the show at the Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos stadium in Rio de Janeiro when she collapsed due to the high temperature in the city. She received a first-aid treatment at a medical tent before being rushed to a hospital, where she died an hour later.

Her exact cause of death has yet to be revealed, but Swifties and her father are seeking justice for what happened.

Father of Taylor Swift's Fan Wants Someone To Be Punished

Speaking with local outlet Folha de São Paulo newspaper, Ana Clara's father, Weiny Machado, launched a plea to have a concise probe into the tragedy to be performed as soon as possible.

"I want it to be found out whether they were, in fact prohibited from bringing water, whether there was negligence in providing assistance," he said. "I know that the singer was handing out water to her fans, and that is absurd for an event of this size. Nothing will bring my daughter back, but I hope that, if negligence is confirmed, someone will be punished, so that this doesn't happen to anyone else."

Fans also flooded the social media pages of T4F, or Time For Fun, the organizer of Brazil stops. They blamed the company's negligence and absurd rules that put everyone in danger.

One said, "you shut down the vents and threw out the fans' water... you basically killed her. do something so this never happens again instead of telling us what happened."

"This was NEGLIGENCE on your part," another wrote, while a third commenter said, y''all just refuse to take any accountability. nobody wants to hear you try and push the blame off on another party. it was your responsibility as the venue to ensure the safety of your guests and you failed. just stop."

Father Mourns Death of His Daughter

Elsewhere in the interview, the 53-year-old patriarch expressed his heartbreak after losing his child unexpectedly.

He noted that Ana Clara was about to graduate in Psychology in April and had been saving money for that.

"I have no words to express my pain. She left home to fulfil a dream and came back dead," he went on.
