When questioned about her five GRAMMY Award nominations, which were revealed earlier this week, Coco Jones responded in a modest manner.
The "ICU" singer expressed her gratitude and blessings for her nominations, which include accolades for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Album, to ET while speaking from the 2023 Soul Train Awards red carpet.
"I have worked a really long time and I think when it rains, it pours," she stated. "When God says it's your time, he means it."
And it's raining for Jones, who was also nominated six times for the Soul Train Awards.

Jones received recognition in the prestigious and difficult-to-get Best New Artist category at the Grammy Awards, in addition to four nominations in the R&B category. Alongside rookies Ice Spice, Noah Kahan, Victoria Monet, and Jelly Roll, she is one of the nominees.
"I'm just so grateful," Jones went on, noting that she has even begun to consider her GRAMMYS outfit, which is still over three months away.
"Truthfully, I'm just on cloud nine still," she said. "I'm trying to like catch my breath and remind myself that I'm not only going to be there -- which is going to be amazing -- but I'm nominated there."
"I pray I leave there with something because that is the ultimate, ultimate accolade," Jones told ET.
Jones was nominated for Best New Artist, Best Music Video, Best R&B/Soul Female Artist, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and the Ashford and Simpson Songwriter's Award at the Sunday night awards show.
Coco Jones also took the stage at Teen Vogue Summit 2023 and performed her best-known songs.
After Coco's show, guests were treated to an open discussion with entertainment news editor Kaitlyn McNab, during which she shared details of her incredibly relatable rise to fame.
She went into detail about her experiences, talking about how her first tour with Mindless Behavior at the age of 15 contrasted with what she was going through now.
"My first tour, I was really big on rest. So that I could give the same energy and effort to every crowd."
She still takes the same stance today. But she's had to re-learn the subtleties of stage acting after spending a lot of time in the studio and on movie sets.
She remarks that getting these many nominations wasn't an overnight success, saying, "I look back at my childhood self, and it's been a very long journey. I go back and forth between knowing this is something I've worked for and other times, in disbelief, wondering if this is really my life?"
