Sabrina Carpenter responded to the criticisms and backlash towards her infamous and controversial "Feather" music video by doing what she does best: a good dose of humor and laughs.

"We got approval in advance," the "Nonsense" singer told Variety during her interview, "and Jesus was a carpenter," she added.

According to reports, Carpenter's music video offended the Catholic community, especially the Brooklyn Diocese, who "punished" the priest who approved the filming to take place at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Annunciation Parish in Brooklyn.

Sabrina Carpenter Offends Catholic Church

Carpenter was dressed in a black tulle mini dress with a black veil during the scenes that were shot in the church during the music video.

She was dancing around while a row of pastel-colored coffins were lined up behind her, which is a reference to the plot of the video where all the men met their untimely end while dealing with the singer.

"Bishop Brennan is appalled at what was filmed at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Brooklyn. The parish did not follow Diocesan policy," read the statement by the Brooklyn Diocese.

Reports also noted that the church had to be "re-blessed" after the music video premiered due to Carpenter's "sacrilegious" actions in it.
