Out of "fear" for her "safety," the woman who sued Jamie Foxx for allegedly sexually assaulting her in 2015 has asked that her identify be kept secret.
One week after launching the shocking complaint against Foxx, 55, the Jane Doe begged a judge to grant her public anonymity, according to court documents that Radar Online acquired on Friday.
She stated in the documents, according to Radar, "I was sexually assaulted as indicated in the Complaint and as a result, I suffered psychological and emotional injuries."
"I do not desire to publicly disclose my identity as a victim of sexual assault because this matter is highly sensitive, and I have already experienced significant shock, shame, and embarrassment for my disclosure due to the prominence and celebrity status of the Defendants."
The woman who wishes to remain anonymous claims that once the case was reported by "every major news outlet," she began to "fear for [her] safety given the fame of Defendant." This is what prompted her request.
"It is very difficult for me to come forward and talk about the events that occurred," she continued. "The sexual assault I suffered has caused my depression, anxiety, lack of sleep, distress, and I am fearful that a public disclose will cause further emotional trauma."
Doe concluded by expressing her want to "avoid the stigma attached to being a victim of sexual assault."
"Ray" actor's representatives are yet to address this new revelation.
Doe filed a lawsuit alleging that the Oscar winner touched her improperly at the Catch rooftop in New York City, following her request for a picture with a buddy.
She says that Foxx, who was supposedly "intoxicated" at the time, touched her genitalia and put his hands beneath her blouse and into her pants.
The accuser states that other witnesses to the purported assault witnessed it happen but did nothing.
A few days later, a Foxx representative refuted the allegations, telling Page Six that the "alleged incident never happened."
This person filed a virtually identical case in Brooklyn in 2020. Soon after, that case was dismissed.
"The claims are no more viable today than they were then," the representative continued. We have no doubt that they will be fired once more.
Foxx intends to "pursue a claim for malicious prosecution" against Doe in actuality because of the repetition of the "frivolous" charges.
Doe was able to file her complaint before the expiration of the Adult Survivors Act of New York, which permitted claimed victims of sexual offenses to initiate civil claims even after the statute of limitations may have passed, despite the fact that the alleged occurrence occurred eight years ago.
For an unidentified reason, the 55-year-old singer and actor was admitted to the hospital in April 2023. He "experienced a medical complication," according to his daughter Corinne, although she could not provide further details.
Foxx did not provide an explanation for his hospital stay in his video, but he did give credit to his daughter, sister Deidra Dixon, and "a lot of great medical people" for "saving (his) life."
