Olivia Rodrigo is one of pop music's biggest stars today. Following up her highly acclaimed album with yet another masterpiece, Rodrigo has continued to rake in fans all over the world.
Rodrigo has established herself not only as a great songwriter but also an amazing performer. Her first national tour, "Sour Tour," despite only lasting more than an hour - was sold out on all of its 49 venues last year.
Now, she has followed that up with the announcement of her "Guts" world tour.
When she announced that "Guts" would be having a world tour, many of her fans were disappointed to not see an Asian leg of the tour.
Olivia Rodrigo 'Guts' World Tour 2024
Starting February 2024, Olivia Rodrigo will embark on her "Guts" World Tour at the Acrisure Arena in Thousand Palms, California. She will then make her way to Canada before capping off at Madison Square Garden for four shows.
She will then trek the European continent before returning to the United States again and ending in August 2024 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California.
Since she announced that, some of her fans in Asia were dismayed, particularly, Filipinos.
Olivia Rodrigo Philippines Tour Confirmed?
Unknownst to many, Olivia Rodrigo is part Filipino and part American. Her dad came from the Philippines while her mother is of German and Irish descent living in the United States.
Rodrigo, a Filipino-American, is loved by many in the Philippines. This is why many Filipino fans were dismayed when Rodrigo didn't announce an Asian leg on her "Guts" tour.
However, in a new interview, Olivia Rodrigo seemed to confirm that she would actually be performing in the Philippines next year.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter's "Awards Chatter" podcast, Rodrigo feels giddy about her upcoming performances in 2024.
"I'm so stoked. I think it's going to be so much fun to play those kinds of rock songs in an arena too. I'm so excited to feel that energy," she confessed.
As she elaborated, she said that she is excited to perform in the Philippines.
"I'm so excited to go places that I haven't been before. I'm really excited to go to the Philippines - I've never been - so that's going to be fun. And I love my band. I have an all-girl band, and they're so wonderful and such great musicians. It's going to be fun," she raved.
