Billie Eilish has been nominated for her debut acting role in the 2023 horror television series "Swarm" at the 2024 Film Independent Spirit Awards.
According to reports, Eilish was nominated for her supporting performance alongside Benny Safdie in "The Curse," Nick Offerman, and Murray Bartlett from "The Last of Us."
Eilish was cast as Eva in the television series about "a young woman's obsession with a pop star [that] takes a turn," IMDb noted on its website.
The "Ocean Eyes" singer's co-stars include Chloe Bailey, Dominique Fishback, Damson Idris, Rory Culkin, Paris Jackson, Stephen Glover, and more.
Billie Eilish Launches Acting Career
Following the reports of Eilish's recent nomination at the Film Independent Spirit Awards drew mixed reactions from fans and netizens on X (formerly known as Twitter).
"I can't tell if she deserves it or not because the only clip I saw of the show was on Twitter and it was someone's d**k and the way it was shot was enough to turn me off from it," one wrote.
Meanwhile, others felt like the "What Was I Made For" singer made a lasting impact and impressed audiences.
"She was actually pretty good in swarm, especially for her first role. She would eat in an A24 film," another added.
"And she deserves!!!"
Billie Eilish Impresses With 'Swarm'
While Eilish is clearly a force to be reckoned with in the music industry, with several Grammy Awards under her belt, and several more nominations and awards from different music-awarding bodies, this is the first time the singer showed off her acting skills.
According to reports, Eilish's role in "Swarm" is a leader of a women's empowerment cult, and while she only shows up in one episode of the entire television series, many praised her acting skills.
Many wonder if this is the first of many acting gigs from the chart-topping hitmaker, as of this writing, though, there has been no word on whether Eilish will be taking on another acting role soon.
However, the singer has hinted at releasing a new album soon but did not say when.
"We see each other all the time, and also now, we're starting to make music again. We just started the process of making an album, which is really exciting," the singer told Vanity Fair in November last year.
