Suzanne Somers' husband dropped a revelation about the late singer's burial.

On October 15, Somers died at the age of 76 following her decades-long battle with breast cancer. The dreaded illness returned earlier this year, and she succumbed to it after going through several health scares while fighting it.

Suzanne Somers Buried in a Pair of Shoes

Somers' husband, Alan Hamel, exclusively spoke to People to reveal that his wife was buried in hiking shoes.

"Suzanne never really had boots designed for hiking on the rocks, so I ordered the Timberland boots," he said. "[I] made my gift personal by drawing on them in a few words that represented our life to some degree and made them very personal to Suzanne. Every time she put on the Timberlands, she said, 'I am wearing you, and my boots will keep me safe.'"

Somers also wore Manolo blahniks which she notably had.

Hamel added that they developed an early morning routine as they spent their time together in Malibu and Palm Springs for over five decades, and it included hiking to the top of one of the mountains with a creek.

Somers' family paid tribute to her in a celebration of life held on November 30. A second memorial service will happen in San Bruno, Calif., this week.

Her death certificate showed she suffered from hydrocephalus for over a year, as well.

Alan Hamel Also Gave Suzanne Somers a Love Letter

People previously shared the love letter Hamel wrote for and gave to Somers a day before her death.

"LOVE I USE IT EVERY DAY, SOMETIMES SEVERAL TIMES A DAY. I USE IT AT THE END OF EMAILS TO MY LOVING FAMILY. I EVEN USE IT IN EMAILS TO CLOSE FRIENDS. I USE IT WHEN I'M LEAVING THE HOUSE," the first line in all caps read.

Hamel and Somers savored decades-old of marriage after tying the knot in 1977. The film producer stayed by her side and helped her during her treatment and recovery through the years.

Somers survived an aggressive form of breast cancer for over 23 years before she succumbed to the disease after it recurred this year. Sources told a news outlet that prior to her death, she and her family had been seeking treatment for her breast cancer but failed, so she was ultimately brought back home.
