Taylor Swift's "The Eras" tour and the "Barbie" movie have been nominated for the Hollywood Creative Alliance's Astra Awards for next year.
According to reports, Swift's highly anticipated world tour, which also has an accompanying concert film, is being nominated for best documentary feature, alongside Job Batiste's "American Symphony," and "Little Richard: I Am Everything," and three more documentaries without the musical aspect.
Meanwhile, Greta Gerwig's "Barbie" has a whopping 15 nominations; "I'm Just Ken," "What Was I Made For," and "Dance The Night" have all been nominated for best song.
Taylor Swift, 'Barbie' Shortlisted For Time's Person of the Year
The recognition of Swift and "Barbie" at the Astra Awards 2024 comes shortly after it was revealed that the two were shortlisted for Time Magazine's "Person of the Year" cover story, along with the Hollywood strikers.
Time Magazine praised the "Barbie" director and noted that the movie "made clear the possibility for theatrical success remains even in a streaming world," while Swift was noted for the re-release of her albums and "the highest-grossing global tour of all time."
On the other hand, Time Magazine noted on the "Cruel Summer" singer's many accomplishments this year, including the records she set and broke with her "The Eras" tour.
The publication also acknowledged that Swift was previously on the 2017 Person of the Year cover for speaking out against sexual misconduct.
Other people considered for the "Person of the Year" were China's President Xi Jinping, Sam Altman, Trump Prosecutors, Russian President Vladimir Putin, King Charles III, and Jerome Powell.
Time chooses the "Person of the Year" based on the "individual, group, or concept that has had the most influence on the world throughout the previous 12 months."

Taylor Swift, 'Barbie' Improved the Economy
Aside from the "Blank Space" singer and "Barbie" being some of the top topics in 2023, the two were also responsible for improving local economies-including Beyonce.
According to reports, "Barbie" had brought in over a billion tickets sold at the box office, while "The Eras" and "Renaissance" tours boosted the economy in several cities.
CNN reported that Swift's tour in Los Angeles was expected to rake in $320 million for the city.
These tours bring in more tourists, which means more revenue for hotels, cafes, restaurants, and other tourist attractions in the cities.
