Korean supergroup ATEEZ had dethroned Taylor Swift's "1989 (Taylor's Version)" at the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart as they claimed their first No. 1 album with "THE WORLD EP.FIN: WILL."
"THE WORLD EP.FIN: WILL" is the super group's second album to date, following the release of their wildly successful "Treasure EP.Fin: All to Action."
ATEEZ 'THE WORLD EP.FIN: WILL' Billboard 200 Charts
According to Billboard and Luminate, "THE WORLD EP.FIN: WILL" No. 1 placement is primarily attributed to traditional album sales. This is because the album has been made readily available across 33 different collectibles.
Typically, major K-Pop album releases are available on multiple configurations as they include randomized photocards of the members. For "THE WORLD EP.FIN: WILL," each album variant is the same in the tracklist but the photocards they would receive would be random. It could contain a minimum of two cards but could have as high as five depending on the location where it was bought.
Apparently, this is the fourth Top 10 charter from the Korean boyband, as their "THE WORLD EP.2: OUTLAW" debuted at No. 2 in July 2023.
The publication noted that the album was the 23rd mostly non-English album to have topped the Billboard 200 chart and the seventh that topped this year, five of those were Korean albums.
