The Hollywood awards season is nearing and the Golden Globe Awards will be kickstarting everything on Jan. 7, 2024. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has announced its nominees for this year's season, particularly those artists whose excellence in music was beaming.

Here are the nominees for Best Original Song - Motion Picture at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards.

Golden Globe Awards 2024: Best Original Song Nominees

As expected, the majority of the nominated songs in this category came from the biggest film soundtrack of the year - "Barbie: The Album." (via Billboard)

"Dance the Night" - Barbie (Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt, Dua Lipa, Caroline Ailin)

Perhaps the biggest dance anthem among all of the nominated tracks, "Dance The Night" was one of the loudest sounds of the summer. The Dua Lipa earworm is definitely one of the standouts, if not the clear winner, on the entire pack.

"Im Just Ken" - Barbie (Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt)

After "Dance The Night," Ryan Gosling and the other Kens' performance of "I'm Just Ken" in the film "Barbie," were among the biggest cinematic moments of 2023. The Ken-semble of men dancing in black outfits on a fever dream sequence is something that "Barbie" moviegoers did not expect to see but come to love after leaving the cinema.

"What Was I Made For?" - Barbie (Billie Eilish O'Connell, Finneas O'Connell)

Billie Eilish and FINNEAS' heart-tugging introspective ballad is something that moviegoers would not expect to hear on a "comedy" film like "Barbie." The anthem perfectly encapsulated the heart of the movie, sending audiences in tears as Margot Robbie's Barbie reflects on her very purpose in life. Eilish's vocals and FINNEAS' masterful production are definitely worthy of a Golden Globe, a Grammy, and even another Academy Award, like the shoo-in they are.

"Addicted to Romance" - She Came to Me (Bruce Springsteen)

Bruce Springsteen has a better history of winning a Golden Globe for Best Original Song than any of those nominated. He has already won two Globes in the past for "Streets of Philadelphia" in 1994 and "The Wrestler" in 2009, so what say that the iconic musician would be granted another Globe decades into his prime? After all, the HFPA loves an unpredictable win.

"Peaches" - The Super Mario Bros. Movie (Jack Black, Aaron Horvath, Michael Jelenic, Eric Osmond, John Spiker)

Jack Black's comedic masterpiece "Peaches" definitely deserved to be in contention to win a Golden Globe Award this year. However, compared to the roster of powerful ballads and dance anthems, winning the award might be an uphill battle for this record.

"Road to Freedom" - Rustin (Lenny Kravitz)

Clad with a rousing saxophone intro, "Road To Freedom" might actually have a shot at winning the award! Kravitz's lyricism and vocals can clear the room and he might be the best vocalist among any other in the pack. This is the Grammy-Award-winning icon's first nomination for a Golden Globe Award, so this has a huge chance of winning too!
