A few months ago, fans were shocked when Maren Morris filed for divorce from her husband Ryan Hurd. More recently, the musician finally broke her silence about her separation in an interview.
The former country singer recently appeared on Howard Stern's SiriusXM show where she gave a small glimpse of her divorce from her ex-partner, saying "it's ongoing."
When asked by the host if she has plans to start dating again, the musician noted that she wanted the divorce to "sort of wrap up" first.
"I don't have the headspace for that yet. But I'm writing so much right now, that's kind of been my way of dating is just through song," she added. (via Billboard)
Maren Morris Files for Divorce From Ryan Hurd
The recent interview comes a few months after Maren Morris, who left the country music industry because of its toxicity, filed for divorce from her husband, Ryan Hurd, after being married for five years.
According to People Magazine, dissolution of marriage was filed in Tennessee and she cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason why they're going to separate.
In early reports, the legal filing was done after the couple had separated for a while. However, it's unclear if the pair had problems before the musician filed for divorce.
Both musicians are parents to three-year-old Hayes Andrew.
Morris seemingly addressed the divorce in a cryptic social media post as she shared a quote on her Instagram stories that read: "It will be fine. It will just be, and when it is, you will face what's necessary."
It appears that the pair were in good terms for their son as they got together for Halloween amid their separation.
In a photo shared on social media, the couple accompanied their son to ask for Halloween treats around the neighborhood.
Ryan Hurd Didn't Expect Divorce
Amid their separation, a source told Us Weekly Magazine that Ryan Hurd "wasn't expecting" the surprising legal move by his wife.
The insider added that he found the divorce as something that "came out of the blue."
Just weeks before the divorce filing, Hurd supported his wife's decision to leave country music, as he took to social media to praise her.
"She deserves to be celebrated, not just tolerated," he wrote.
