Madonna is currently performing at her series of concerts across the United States for her "Celebration" tour, which tackles all eras of her decades-long music career. However, her appearance wouldn't be possible if she never recovered from her medical issues. Thankfully, a friend of hers came to the rescue a few months ago when she struggled with her health.

According to Billboard, the pop royalty took the stage of Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, New York, over the weekend, and one of the trending videos on social media showed the singer expressing her gratitude to a friend named Shavawn.

"There's very important people in this room tonight who were with me in the hospital," she told the crowd.

The pop singer then noted that the woman whom she mentioned "dragged" her to the hospital after she was found unconscious on her bathroom floor. Later on, she woke up in the ICU after being taken to a medical facility.

"Thank you, Shavawn. She saved my life," she revealed.

In addition to her friend, she also thanked Eitan Yardeni, her Kabbalah teacher, who stayed by her side after being in an induced coma for 48 hours and throughout that period, it was only his voice that he heard.

Madonna Reflects on Time at the Hospital

Upon waking up from her coma, the musician said she saw her six children (Lourdes Leon, Rocco Ritchie, David Banda, Chifundo James, Stella, and Estere) surrounding her and she later reflected about what would happen if she left her kids behind.

"That would destroy me to leave my children at this moment in their lives. I wasn't thinking about me," she added.

Madonna was also worried about her mom and how she reacted when she found out that she was taken to the hospital.

What Happened to Madonna?

Back in June, Madonna shocked the world as reports of her being admitted into an ICU made rounds online. This was the time when the musician was supposed to go on tour, but was postponed due to her health issues.

In a statement upon recovering, she explained that she had a "serious bacterial infection."

She expressed her gratitude to those who gave her positive energy and those who have prayed for her at the time of the incident.

"I have felt your love. I'm on the road to recovery and incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life," she noted.
