Taylor Swift dropped more details about her and Joe Alwyn's relationship months after their split.

Sources confirmed in April that the now-estranged couple called it quits after six years of dating due to "differences in their personalities." While Swift has since moved on with Travis Kelce, she recently made a rare comment about her ex.

Taylor Swift Comments on Relationship With Joe Alwyn

Following the rumors that Swift and Alwyn wed during their relationship, the "Lover" singer spoke with Zane Lowe on Apple Music regarding their past songwriting bonding for her albums.

For what it's worth, the "Stars at Noon" actor contributed to the two of her albums, "Evermore" and "Folklore," under the pen name William Bowery. Per Swift, they made sad songs together.

"We write the saddest [songs]. We just really love sad songs. What can I say?..It was a surprise that we started writing together," she said. "But in a way, it wasn't because we have always bonded over music and had the same musical tastes."

The "Look What You Made Me Do" singer also spoke highly of Alwyn for introducing her to music she "had not heard before" and for being the person who gave her songs by artists that became her favorites.

Swift and Alwyn ended their relationship after realizing they were not the right fit for each other.

The pair seemingly met at the 2016 Met Gala and started sparking romance rumors in May 2017.

"They had plenty in common and fell in love in a safe bubble while she was retreating from the world during Reputation," the source said. "Then the pandemic hit, and they were locked down together and able to continue growing their relationship in this insulated way. But he didn't really 'know' her yet outside of that bubble."

Joe Alwyn Did Not Like the Spotlight

After the split, more sources came forward to explain what exactly happened between the two.

Among the reasons that reportedly triggered the breakup was Swift's intense level of fame and the attention she gets from the public, and Alwyn did not like to be in the spotlight.

"The differences in their personalities have also become harder to ignore after years together. They've grown apart," the insider continued.
