John Travolta is said to be ready to find love again years after his wife, Kelly Preston, died.
On July 12, 2020, Travolta lost her beloved wife as she died two years after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The pair welcomed three children, though their eldest kid Jett died in January 2009 at the age of 16 after hitting his head on a bathtub following a seizure episode while on vacation.
Three years after Preston's passing, sources said Travolta might start dating again.
John Travolta Finding Love Again?
Sources told Star (via OK! Magazine) that the "You're the One That I Want" singer is ready to be on the market to love someone again.
"John is of the mindset that a professional matchmaker would work and save time by finding someone who meets his list of criteria," the insider said. "Though he's not asking for much - just that she be kind, warm, gracious, funny and spontaneous. Being attractive too wouldn't hurt!"
The insider noted Preston would not want to see Travolta spend the rest of his life alone, so she would love to see him with someone he would love again.
Another source said Travolta is a "little rusty" since he has not dated anyone after his wife's death.
John Travolta Is Still Married
The report, however, contradicted what another source told RadarOnline.com in February 2023.
At that time, a separate insider claimed the "Summer Nights" crooner would never date again.
"John still considers himself married and says he will stay loyal to Kelly until the day he dies," the insider added. "It's hands off when it comes to dating. It's sad, but he's essentially taken a vow of celibacy for the rest of his life."
Meanwhile, another source disclosed how Travolta speaks about Preston all the time. Since their lives were intertwined, he reportedly found it hard to move on after the loss.
Fortunately, their children helped him go through the grief and pushed him to continue living.
Travolta and Kelly welcomed their second child, Ella Bleu, in April 2000, and their third child, Benjamin, in 2010.
In his interview with Kevin Hart on "Hart to Heart," he spoke about the time his young son felt afraid about losing the patriarch after Preston's passing.
"I said, 'Well, it's a very different thing.' And I went through the differences about my longevity and her limited life," he opened up. "I said, 'But you know, Ben ... you always love the truth and I'm going to tell you the truth about life. Nobody knows when they're gonna go or when they're going to stay.'"
