Amy S. Foster, David Foster's daughter, defended her father on Friday after an Instagram user attacked him for being a bad parent.
The 50-year-old songwriter refuted rumors that the 74-year-old artist neglected his elder children in favor of his 2-year-old son Rennie, saying their bond is "great."
In response to a comment made by a social media user on the music producer's Instagram post featuring Rennie drumming to Michael Jackson's "Rock With You," she said, "We love our dad."
She continued, speaking of their half-sibling Rennie, David's sole son and kid with his current wife, 38-year-old Katharine McPhee, "Our dad loves us and we love how our dad is with Rennie."
Along with Amy, David has five daughters: Jordan Foster, 37; Erin Foster, 41; Sara Foster, 42; and Allison Jones Foster, 53.

Many people expressed their admiration and gratitude for David Foster's showcasing of his little son's drumming prowess.
Rennie clearly inherited skill, as one Instagram user noted, writing, "When you're [sic] Dad is David Foster."
But some gotten quite mean, hinting he abandoned his other children - thereby prompting Amy to speak up.
One individual commented, "Lol!!!! He is the dad..... He's also got daughters (he abandoned) older than me..'"
Amy immediately responded with a long remark, refuting the accusations and standing up for her father.
She said she is the daughter and there is definitely no abandonment.
She even said she literally just spoke to her dad five minutes ago.
She also chastised the commenter for posting a derogatory remark behind a cute video of their younger brother drumming.
"Are you sticking up for us? It's so hard to tell these days...you see a video with an amazing two year old and your take away [sic] is something negative?," she wrote. "All you have to do is look at the comments and Rennie's sisters have all chimed in with compliments," she further added. "We're great. We love our dad. Our dad loves us and we love how our dad is with Rennie."
In January 2023, David, who was 73 at the time, talked to People about raising a toddler and expressed his desire to be more present than he had been in the past when he worked a lot and raised his older children. That was about a year ago.
"It's different again at this point in my life," he told the newspaper. Not superior or inferior, merely distinct. I still work and travel frequently, but perhaps now that I have more runway behind me than in front of me, time is a little more valuable to me.
Before Rennie was born, in July 2020, David acknowledged in a different interview that he regretted the parenting errors he had made with his children because he was definitenly busier then. He then said he did the best he could though.
