Mark Ronson was up for two nominations at the Golden Globes, on Jan. 7, "I'm Just Ken" and "Dance the Night," which were featured in the "Barbie" movie.
Both songs lost to another song that was featured in the Greta Gerwig-directed film, as Billie Eilish's "What Was I Made For" won Best Original Song.
Apparently, the music producer had prepared an acceptance speech in case he won the award; according to reports, Ronson shared a picture of his speech--all torn up-in the trash.
The picture which was shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) garnered jeers among netizens.
"Who in the world would think a song like 'I'm Just Ken' would win," one wrote.
"It's not that he didn't deserve it, it's just that 'What Was I Made For' deserved it."
"He thought he was gonna win?" Another added.
Meanwhile, others were confused with Ronson's intentions by sharing his torn-up acceptance speech, "what did he think he accomplished by doing this..."
Mark Ronson Proudly Unveils 'Barbie' Songs
Ronson has always been very vocal about being proud of producing two songs for the "Babie" movie: "I'm Just Ken," performed by Ryan Gosling, who played Ken, and "Dance the Night," performed by Dua Lipa, who had a cameo in the movie as Mermaid Barbie.
"It's very, very, very weird," the music producer said last year about the massive success of the two tracks. "There's always a part of us that wants to write timeless pop bangers, but our prerogative, at the time, was to make the best songs for the film."
Elsewhere in the interview, Ronson expressed just how much work they had to put in to make sure the two songs were going to be perfect.
"We rewrote it twice," he revealed.
Dua Lipa, Mark Ronson Breakdown 'Dance the Night'
According to reports, during Lipa and Ronson's appearance on Variety's "Behind the Song," they delved into how "Dance the Night" changed their life.
"'Barbie' completely took over our lives," the "Love Again" singer said. "We were completely Barbie-fied."
She explained that they had post-it notes "everywhere" as they brainstormed what the song and music video's concept would be.
"We rewrote 'Dance the Night' so many times to match the picture," Ronson added. "When Margo [Robbie] does that come-hither thing with her fingers [in the scene], that's when I want to sing 'Come along for the ride,' We actually engineered that song almost like a score."
