Get in loser, we're watching "Mean Girls: The Musical!"
Sadly, for the original cast fans, only the OG Cady Heron, played by Lindsay Lohan, has arrived at the "Mean Girls: The Musical" New York City premiere.
Lindsay Lohan Arrives At 'Mean Girls: The Musical'
Despite not being marketed as a musical adaptation, the "Mean Girls: The Musical" movie has arrived on the pink carpet in New York City.
While this is the perfect time for an official "Mean Girls" reunion, fans are dismayed that Lindsay Lohan was the only member of the OG Plastics that made a significant appearance to see "Mean Girls: The Musical."
People Magazine reported that Lohan was dressed in an Alexandre Vauthier long-sleeve black dress with jeweled cutouts and silver crystals.
Daniel Franzese, the actor who played Damian Hubbard in the original 2004 film also made an appearance on the red carpet. He hugged Tony Award-winning actor Jacquel Spivey, who now plays Damiann Leigh in the movie musical adaptation in an endearing reunion. Rajiv Surendra, who played Kevin Gnapoor in the film also made an appearance.
Sadly, the other Plastics, Lacey Chabert and Amanda Seyfried were not present at the pink carpet event. Seyfried might be too tired and occupied to attend the event as she was a presenter at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards recently, which took place the night before in California.
As for Chabert, it is not known if she has any other prior commitments. Rachel McAdams, who was also not present in the "Mean Girls" Walmart reunion commercial, is also not around. Lizzy Caplan, who plays Janis Ian in the 2004 movie was also not around.
'Mean Girls' Reunion Not Possible?
The only complete "Mean Girls" reunion that we could possibly have is Walmart's Black Friday Sale commercial with Lindsay Lohan, Lacey Chabert, and Amanda Seyfried - where they returned as the moms of new Northshore High School students.
When Amanda Seyfried was asked about a "Mean Girls" reunion at the 2024 Golden Globes, she only had this to say:
"It's not up to me sadly, but if it were, yeah, I think we would all really enjoy some more time together," she added. Commenting on the reunion, she said: "It was like a pinch me thing. We had ... it was two days of just a lot of catch-up. It was really nice."
"Mean Girls: The Musical" is a movie adaptation of the Tony-nominated musical, featuring Renee Rapp, Angourie Rice, Avantika, Bebe Woods, Christopher Brinney, Tina Fey, John Hamm, Busy Phillips, Jenna Fischer, and Tim Meadows.
