Rapp referred to the numerous jokes that Jo Koy had thrown during the 2024 Golden Globe Awards.

"Oppenheimer is based on a 721-page Pulitzer Prize-winning book about the Manhattan Project, and Barbie is on a plastic doll with big boobies," he remarked. "The key moment in Barbie is when she goes from perfect beauty to bad breath, cellulite, and flat feet. Or what casting directors call character actor!"

When the camera panned to the audience, the likes of Harrison Ford, Selena Gomez, Greta Gerwig and more groaned in disdain at his rather problematic jokes and antics.

After bombing his opening monologue, Jo Koy did even worse when he delivered his Taylor Swift joke. While it is unavoidable to joke about the most important person in the room, Jo Koy's joke about Taylor Swift fell flat.

"As you know, we came on after a football doubleheader," Jo Koy said. "The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL? On the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift, I swear."

Then, the camera panned to an unamused Taylor Swift looking at the host, sipping her Chardonnay with a straight face.

Jo Koy Explains Taylor Swift NFL Joke

Speaking to "GMA3: What You Need to Know," Jo Koy attempted to explain his joke about Taylor Swift.

"I think it was when the Taylor [Swift] one was just a little flat...It was a weird joke, I guess. But it was more on the NFL...I was trying to make fun of the NFL using cutaways and how the Globes didn't have to do that. So it was more of a jab toward the NFL. But it just didn't come out that way," he admitted
