The Walkmen announce an indefinite hiatus, but solo projects are in the works
The Walkmen have been a band for 14 years, and apparently, that might be the point in which they call it quits as a band, but it's not an official breakup. Peter Bauer told The Washington Post, "We have no future plans whatsoever. I'd call it a pretty extreme hiatus." -

As part of the One Million Square Feet of Culture project in Miami, Pitchfork will be one of the participants taking over some of the space for their own creative display. They will curate 10,000 square feet of space to feature Gesaffelstein, Jacques Greene with an opening set by DJ L-Vis 1990. -

The xx go to Facebook to oppose their song being used in a political ad against same sex marriage
English indie rock band The xx have issued a statement on Facebook explaining its disapproval of Croatian political organization U ime obitelji using the song "Intro" in an advertisement that speaks against same-sex marriage. The band did not agree for the organization to use the song, and now they are making it clear that the members are not affiliated. -
The National and 'Bob's Burgers' team up again for a gravy-filled new video
Brooklyn rockers The National have teamed up with Fox's comedy Bob's Burgers to create a video just in time for the gravy-filled holidays, "Sailors in Your Mouth." The Thanksgiving episode aired last week. Believe it or not the video isn't entirely funny. It has its moments, but it's actually just kind of trippy. It's bizarrely entrancing, as the band (in the form of gravy) spill out of the gravy boat, captained by frontman Matt Berninger. -

Morrissey is not hesitant to share his thoughts and feelings about animal rights. This time he's addressing President Obama directly about the annual Thanksgiving Turkey Pardon. Since Thanksgiving in 1989 when George H. W. Bush was in office, a "presidential pardon" is given to one bird, allowing it to live. It does seem like a bizarre tradition, but for Morrissey, it's way more than that. -

Late Charlatans drummer Jon Brookes to appear on band's new album
The Charlatans have announced that the recordings done by Jon Brookes before he died will be included in the upcoming album. Brookes died at the age of 44 in August from a brain tumor. The cancerous tumor came about following a seizure the drummer had while on tour in 2010. -
