  • Jesse Matthew Has Been Charged With Murder of UVA Student Hannah Graham

Five months after Hannah Graham of UVA was last scene on a surveillance camera walking with Jesse Matthew near Charlottesville Mall in Virginia, he has been charged with her murder. The 18-year-old University of Virginia student's murder has always been linked to 32-year-old Matthew, but until late last night, Feb. 9, he had only been charged with abduction with intent to defile. Prosecutors apparently now believe they have enough evidence against Matthew that will stick.
  • Hugh Hefner Distances Himself from 'Good Friend' Bill Cosby Amid Allegations of Sexual Molestation Occurring at the Playboy Mansion

Whether Bill Cosby is guilty or innocent almost does not matter when it comes to his career. His name has already been tarnished enough that even longtime affiliates are taking three big steps back from the actor just in case he really did sexually assault more than two dozen women.Last week, Judy Huth not only accused Cosby of molesting her at the Playboy Mansion in 1974, but she actually filed a police report. The statute of limitations will make it impossible for the actor to face any legal repercussions, but it does light a fire under the Los Angeles Police Department to investigate and, in doing so, it could possibly unearth other, much younger victims. For a long time Cosby called Hugh Hefner one of his best friends and it did not take the Playboy mogul long to respond to Huth's allegations.Apparently, Hefner wants to make sure that everyone understands that if anything criminal occurred at the mansion, it certainly was not OK with him.
  • Former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani Believes Darren Wilson's Case Never Should Have Been Before a Grand Jury, Calls It 'Political Theater'

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani really gets heated when the topic of Ferguson comes up. In the last few weeks he has popped up on various news programs, insisting that while this case took on racial overtones early on, the problem actually starts with what is wrong within the community itself. Giuliani insisted on "Fox News Sunday" that Darren Wilson's shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown never should have made it in front of a grand jury in the first place."I don't see how this case normally would even have been brought to a grand jury. This is the kind of case — had it not had the racial overtones and the national publicity — where a prosecutor would have come to the conclusion that there is not enough evidence to present to the grand jury. [U.S.] Attorney General [Eric] Holder's gonna have to take a case in which a jury couldn't find probable cause to indict, and he's gonna have to try to find probable cause in front of a federal grand jury. It's an impossible case to present to a grand jury," said Giuliani. He also held firm to the notion that it is the community's job to get itself together and to work to bring the violence down among themselves. While it is the local police department's job to protect the peace, if people were treating each other humanely in the first place, then situations like Ferguson would rarely occur.
  • NBC Puts the Brakes on New Bill Cosby Comedy Series After Netflix Shelves Special That Was Scheduled to Begin Streaming Next Week

It has been a devastating day for business in the life of comedic legend Bill Cosby. In the last several days he has watched as several old rape claims against him have been met in the media by a new rash of claims from women who have now gone on the record to tell their own alleged personal accounts of suffering at his hands. At first, Cosby's attorney simply denied that his client had done anything wrong and then insisted these old claims were baseless. But by late last night things shifted when the self-proclaimed world's first supermodel, Janice Dickinson, said Cosby had raped her back in 1982. Cosby's attorney came out swinging, but it was too late to save two new projects he has been working on.First, Netflix announced that it is shelving a special show Cosby had already filmed for it. It was scheduled to begin streaming next week and it is now on hold. If Cosby somehow pulls out of this scandal with his career at all intact, then there is a chance Netflix will show his special. Unfortunately, that is not going to be the case for Cosby's other deal.NBC was working on a new Cosby project that would have been executive produced by "The Cosby Show's" Tom Werner. In it, Cosby was supposed to star as Jonathan Franklin, head of a multigenerational family, who would use his humor and life experience to guide his daughters, sons-in-law and grandkids. It kind of sounded like an updated spin on the formula that worked so well 25 years ago. Unfortunately, it will never see the light of day because NBC has killed it completely.
  • Dwight Howard Under Criminal Investigation for Child Abuse in Georgia, Admits Beating Son with Belt Buckle

It looked for a moment like NBA star Dwight Howard was going to be off the hook in a child abuse investigation that began in Florida. Howard's ex, Royce Reed, accused him of beating their 6-year-old son Braylon, with a belt buckle, something that was actually substantiated after a full exam by the Department of Children and Families. Dr. Kesler said that abrasions on the child were consistent with being struck repeatedly with a belt buckle, and Howard himself confirmed he had punished his son in that manner. According to Howard, it was how he was punished as a kid and had no idea it was wrong. Even after all this, Florida closed up its investigation, saying there was not enough credible proof. It looked like Howard was cleared — at least until yesterday.According to a new TMZ report, Braylon's injuries actually occurred in Georgia and the Cobb County Police Department had been asking for the file on this case for months, with no cooperation. After TMZ actually posted Florida DCF's findings, it gave Cobb County more leverage and the file ended up in their hands within a few hours.
