Katherine Heigl is one of those actresses who has the kind of reputation that precedes her. She left "Grey's Anatomy" to star in a string of films, totally expecting to morph into a big-screen star. That did not exactly happen and her difficult reputation kind of took on a life of its own. For a while Heigl was having a tough time finding a job, and then along came "State of Affairs."While she was said to be totally against the idea of returning to prime-time television for the longest time, she is working as an executive producer on her new NBC show, which means a lot of creative control is now in the palm of her hand. Heigl was interviewed by The Wrap while at a fundraising gala for The Trevor Project, an organization connected with gay teen suicide prevention, and she said she never expected to enjoy her new role on the NBC drama as much as she has been. -
Dr. Nancy Snyderman Returns to 'Today' After Ebola Quarantine Violation Resulted in Serious Backlash
Dr. Nancy Snyderman will finally return to "The Today Show" this morning after a two-month absence. The medical expert returned from Liberia in early October and announced that she and her crew would be voluntarily quarantining themselves because one NBC freelancer with them had contracted the Ebola virus. About a week into that self-imposed quarantine, Snyderman was spotted out grabbing take-out in New Jersey. She issued an apology that sounded more like blame-shifting and the backlash was so bad that NBC has kept her off the air and in limbo for the last six weeks. For a while the network was reportedly debating whether or not to fire their chief medical correspondent. Before this major misstep, Snyderman was considered to be a credible and valued member of NBC's news team. The jury is still out on whether or not the viewers will continue to trust her judgment. Snyderman's first segment back will have nothing to do with Ebola and she is expected to once again apologize for her careless actions. -
NBC's Tom Brokaw Makes Other Networks Jealous By Scoring a Lengthy Interview with Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie has been working hard to promote her new film "Unbroken," which is the story of Louis Zamperini's life from Olympic long-distance runner to World War II prisoner of war. She has worked closely with NBC and let it into her tight circle as it works on a documentary about Zamperini and how she has brought his story to the big screen.Tom Brokaw has spent quite a bit of time with Jolie in recent months, and this morning, Nov. 25, on "Today" we caught a glimpse of his exclusive sit-down interview with her.Aside from this huge project, Jolie has had a lot of other things going on in her life, including her recent marriage to Brad Pitt. Brokaw took the time to ask Jolie about their new status as husband and wife after already spending a decade together. -
Bill Cosby Laughed About Recent Allegations While Performing at a Women's Rape Charity Event in the Bahamas
Nearly every day for the last two weeks another woman has come out of the shadows to accuse Bill Cosby of everything from groping to full-blown rape. While his attorney is insisting that Cosby is nothing more than a victim of a horrific smear campaign, the industry is definitely fearing otherwise. NBC killed a new sitcom that had been in development and Netflix has shelved Cosby's latest stand-up gig that was filmed for them. At first, it was thought that Cosby's stand-up shows would survive these allegations, but many venues have begun canceling gigs into next year, indicating that the comedian may not come out of this with an active career intact.Late last week, Cosby did do a scheduled show in the Bahamas — and ironically enough the proceeds went to benefit a women's charity. The organization that he came out to support works with rape victims and domestic violence victims and provides counseling for both. No doubt Cosby was glad that this show went on because it made him look supportive of women's issues rather than an alleged abuser. What was appalling was that during this show Cosby found some crocodile tears for the slew of allegations against him and even joked onstage about his current battle in the public eye."Parents are coming and taking their children home, saying to me, 'Bill Cosby, you are an evil man! We will never eat your Jell-O pudding again!'" said Cosby to an audience that thought his jokes were hilarious. -
Lisa Bonet Posts Cryptic Tweet About Bill Cosby Scandal -- Calls Situation "Karma"
Last night (Nov. 21), a Twitter account that appears to be that of Lisa Bonet's (but remains unverified by Twitter) posted a tweet that simply said: "According to the karma of past actions, one's destiny unfolds, even though everyone wants to be so lucky... Nothing stays in the dark 4ever!" -

NBC Puts the Brakes on New Bill Cosby Comedy Series After Netflix Shelves Special That Was Scheduled to Begin Streaming Next Week
It has been a devastating day for business in the life of comedic legend Bill Cosby. In the last several days he has watched as several old rape claims against him have been met in the media by a new rash of claims from women who have now gone on the record to tell their own alleged personal accounts of suffering at his hands. At first, Cosby's attorney simply denied that his client had done anything wrong and then insisted these old claims were baseless. But by late last night things shifted when the self-proclaimed world's first supermodel, Janice Dickinson, said Cosby had raped her back in 1982. Cosby's attorney came out swinging, but it was too late to save two new projects he has been working on.First, Netflix announced that it is shelving a special show Cosby had already filmed for it. It was scheduled to begin streaming next week and it is now on hold. If Cosby somehow pulls out of this scandal with his career at all intact, then there is a chance Netflix will show his special. Unfortunately, that is not going to be the case for Cosby's other deal.NBC was working on a new Cosby project that would have been executive produced by "The Cosby Show's" Tom Werner. In it, Cosby was supposed to star as Jonathan Franklin, head of a multigenerational family, who would use his humor and life experience to guide his daughters, sons-in-law and grandkids. It kind of sounded like an updated spin on the formula that worked so well 25 years ago. Unfortunately, it will never see the light of day because NBC has killed it completely. -
NBC's 'Today' in Turmoil as Rumors Circulate That Natalie Morales and Willie Geist Have Already Been Fired: Savannah Guthrie Could Be Next
The real story of what is going on behind the scenes at NBC's "Today" seems to depend on who you talk to, but one thing is for sure: It is not pretty. On Monday night, Nov. 17, the network confirmed that Jamie Horowitz, who was brought in less than three months ago as the morning show's general manager, had been fired. Horowitz was originally hired to make changes that would help Today climb back to the top of the ratings, but he was met with hostility from nearly everyone when he tried to implement changes.According to a report by Page Six, Matt Lauer found out that Horowitz was gearing up to get rid of Natalie Morales, Willie Geist and even his co-host Savannah Guthrie. Lauer then went to NBC's top brass in protest and had Horowitz fired, proving he really is ultimately in charge of major Today decisions. -
NBC's 'Today' Hoping to Land Exclusive First Joint American Interview with Kate Middleton and Prince William Later This Year
NBC is sure working hard to get in good with the royal family. First the network scored an exclusive interview last summer with Pippa Middleton, and that went so well that Kate Middleton's sister is now said to be in contention for a spot with "The Today Show" as a lifestyles correspondent. Now we are hearing that "Today" is also working hard to try and secure the first joint American interview with Middleton and her husband, Prince William. We told you the other day that the young couple is planning to travel to the States in a few weeks and will be spending time in New York City. There is also a pretty good chance that little Prince George will be traveling with them, and it is an opportunity that NBC is dying to take full advantage of. ABC is also supposedly vying for a similar interview, but because of Pippa's connection with "Today," it seems more likely that they would agree to grant that morning show their first interview. -
NBC Honchos Divided Over Whether or Not to Fire Dr. Nancy Snyderman for Breaking Ebola Quarantine
Up until recently, Dr. Nancy Snyderman was heralded as one of the top medical staffers employed by NBC. The network sent her to cover the Ebola virus in West Africa because viewers had come to trust her judgment, so it made sense for her to be one of the leaders when it came to educating NBC's audience. When Snyderman and her team returned, she claimed they were going to voluntarily quarantine themselves for 21 days just to be extra careful, said the "Hopewell Valley News." When Snyderman was spotted out grabbing take-out less than a week later in New Jersey, said the "Princeton Packet," the fallout was pretty explosive, and now weeks later the network's honchos are divided over whether or not to fire her for breaking her Ebola quarantine. At first NBC announced that Snyderman and her team would be given a few extra weeks off and return in November. Execs were hoping that a bit of time off would put distance between Snyderman and the scandal that had surrounded her. -
David Gregory's Salary Demands Cost Him a Position at CNN, but He Will Co-Host an Election Day Special on 'Yahoo! News' Beside Katie Couric
David Gregory can't seem to catch a break or land a great job. After spending years at NBC, the newsman was let go late last summer after being blamed for "Meet the Press's" dismal Sunday morning ratings — not that the network did not try to figure out why, after years, people still were not embracing Gregory as host of the paneled show. It was rumored he and his wife — at the network's request — even met with therapists in an attempt to figure out what character flaw made him seemingly so unlikable. Once the writing was on the wall, it was rumored Gregory would likely land at CNN, but now we are hearing that that deal fell through. Salary demands could not be met, and the anchor will co-host an Election Day special on "Yahoo! News" with Katie Couric. -

If you’ve been following the happenings around Conan O’Brien’s TBS series CONAN, as well as what went down beforehand, then you’re well aware of the fact that once the host took over the Tonight Show spot, not everyone in his Late Night crew went out to Los Angeles.
