Michael Bolton's friends are said to be worried about the singer's future as his brain tumor may keep him from performing again.
This year, Bolton delivered shocking news about his brain tumor diagnosis and tour cancelation to focus on his treatment and recuperation following an immediate surgery. While he assured everyone that the procedure was a success, his pals reportedly could not help but feel anxious about what the future holds for him.
Michael Bolton's Health Update: Can He Sing Again?
The National Enquirer, via RadarOnline.com, quoted medical experts who reportedly warned fans not to expect much despite the singer's assurance he would get back to performing soon.
"A brain tumor is one of the most dreaded health crises. It can impair function forever!" New York internist Dr. Stuart Fischer said as he explained the two types of brain tumors. "But nothing is really benign if it is inside the skull because of the extra pressure it can apply on the brain."
Dr. Gabe Mirkin reflected on the second type of tumor, glioblastoma, which is malignant and usually inoperable. He disclosed the tough recovery for patients with such diagnosis and how a surgery can also lead to devastating side effects.
"Surgery requires removing the damaged area of the brain and must be done precisely because every part removed results in loss of function," he continued.
With that, Bolton's friends are reportedly worried he might not be able to sing again.

Still, this should be taken with a grain of salt, especially when the singer himself remains positive of his health and career.
The "When a Man Loves a Woman" singer disclosed he was recuperating at home after his surgery, revealing that his family had been showering him with love and support.
As a result, Bolton will be away from the spotlight to devote his time and energy to his recovery.
He ended his message by also thanking his fans for their love and understanding amid his health battle.
"I am beyond grateful for all the love and support you have so generously shown me through the years. Know that I'm keeping your positive messages in my heart, and I'll give you more updates as soon as I can. Much love always, MB," the statement continued.
