Last month, rumors circulated that Dead & Company could potentially perform at the ultra modern Las Vegas concert venue, The Sphere, even though they already announced their final tour. More recently, the group finally confirmed the speculations as their logo was flashed outside the venue's massive spherical LED.

Taking to their social media accounts, the band shared a surprising video.

"In 2023, Dead & Company played their final tour. But there are other ways to make sure the music never stops, and it's gonna be a ball," a text reads at the beginning of the clip.

Then a live version of the song "Not Fade Away" plays in the background as the band's logo was projected on the massive LED screen outside the Sphere.

As of this writing, the band has yet to share more details about the residency as they haven't released any dates or tickets yet.

Dead & Company Las Vegas Sphere Rumors

Last month, the New York Post reported that group members Bob Weir, John Mayer, Mickey Hart, Jeff Chimenti, Oteil Burbridge, and Jay Lane were in talks to play at the massive venue.

Although at the time, the conversation between them and executives were still not sure 100%.

The band was not the only music act who spoke with people behind the Sphere as James Dolan, the owner of the famed venue, also wanted Beyoncé to hit the stage.

Beyoncé's team already spoke with Dolan's team at the time about a potential residency.

Rumors surrounding her shows were even fueled after Tina Knowles and Jay-Z reportedly visited the $2.3-billion venue to take a look around.

Reports state that Beyoncé's team wanted $10 million to produce the show, which is almost the same amount that U2 received for their residency.

Aside from the singer, other musical acts like Lady Gaga, Bon Jovi, and Paul McCartney were being considered.

Dead & Company Disbanding Rumors Not True?

The recent news comes a few months after John Mayer spoke about the future of Dead & Company during an interview with Andy Cohen where he revealed that his bandmates want to keep playing together, but they were unsure at the time about their next steps.

"We will play shows - I have to believe that we love this music so much we're gonna play shows - we just are trying to figure out what that looks like for the future... Everyone has it in their hearts to keep playing," he said.
