Willow has been singing since she was a kid with her massive hits "Whip My Hair" and "Fireball," but later in her career, the musician found her way to defy different genres outside pop music and released countless tracks that her fans loved. This year, the musician is set to release yet another project featuring star-studded artists.
According to People magazine, the daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith kicked off her new era with the single "Big Feelings" (stylized as 'b i g f e e l i n g s')
This is the first song of her forthcoming album, empathogen, which will be available for streaming on May 3, 2024.
In a press release about her latest single, the singer said the piano part of her new song is "so dense and dissonant but also darkly beautiful."
Giving more background about the track, Willow said she wrote the song around the time she was coming to terms with her emotional patterns, which she had no idea were there all this time.
She added, "The song is about accepting those intense feelings that you have no idea what to do with."
Willow New Album 'empathogen'
Willow is giving her fans a big treat this year. Next month, she will release her new album, empathogen. In a statement, the singer said fans should anticipate the singer tapping into "ancestral energy" to exude "a sense of mystery."
The musician will not be alone; songs will feature some of the biggest musicians, like Jon Batiste and St. Vincent.
"It is an album that embraces tension - light and dark, free-spiritedness and social pressures, playfulness and depth," the release states," the statement continues.
