Barbra Streisand is releasing a new song for an upcoming Peacock series.

Entitled "The Power of Love," the new track will serve as the end title for the streaming service's upcoming series, The Tattooist of Auschwitz. Set for release on April 25, the song will be the music icon's first-ever recording for a television series.

Streisand says that the single comes in response to the recent spike in antisemitism, honoring those who were lost in the Holocaust.

"Because of the rise in antisemitism around the world today, I wanted to sing 'Love Will Survive' in the context of this series, as a way of remembering the six-million souls who were lost less than 80 years ago. And also to say that even in the darkest of times, the power of love can triumph and endure."

The series - led by Melanie Lynskey, Harvey Keitel, Jonah Hauer-King, Anna Próchniak and Jonas Nay - drops on Peacock on May 2.

The new song is written by Oscar-winning film veteran Hans Zimmer, who worked with Bleeding Fingers Music composer collective member and Emmy-nominee Kara Talve and Grammy-winner Walter Afanasief. The lyrics include contributions from Charlie Midnight, a Grammy and Golden Globe nominee.

The highly-anticipated single will also feature accompaniment from the world-renowned London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by William Ross. The song is produced by multiple Grammy winners Walter Afanasieff and Peter Asher.

The Tattooist of Auschwitz tells the story of a Slovakian Jew who was deported to Auschwitz in 1942, as millions of Jews were being murdered. While there, he is made a Tätowierer, who tattoos identification numbers of prisoners. He falls in love with a fellow inmate as he tattoos her, forming a bond that defies the horrific events surrounding them.

Streisand's six decade career has cemented her place in show business with an EGOT status, releasing global hits like "Evergreen," "The Way We Were" and "Woman in Love." She is known for her breakout role in Funny Girl on Broadway and in film, which included songs like "Don't Rain On My Parade," "People," and "The Greatest Star."

Those hoping to hear Streisand perform the song live may be out of luck, as the songstress has confirmed that she will never perform live again.

"I don't like [singing in public]," she said to Apple Music in 2021. "It gives me the willies. ... I said if I could just sit on a stool and sing, that I could do. But to have to have dress fittings, then I never change my clothes enough."

Following the release of her new memoir, she also insists that she will never star in another movie, stating that it's "too much of a pain in the ass" to get your hair and makeup done everyday.

"I don't want to have fittings. I don't like fittings," she continued to share during the Apple Music interview. "I don't want to be a clown on a stage walking and everybody's below me. It feels odd."

Streisand's new memoir, My Name Is Barbra, is out on bookshelves now.
