Morgan Wallen has been a controversial figure in the country music scene for the past few years.
Although his success in the genre cannot be overlooked, the public scrutiny that he has earned throughout his issues seems to have been bigger than his success.
Thankfully, he has friends in the Country music scene who have remained loyal amidst all the drama.
Morgan Wallen Arrest Mocked by Country Music Friends
Wallen's arrest in Broadway, Nashville, earlier this month saw the singer facing yet another consequence of his alleged drinking problem - a thing he has been facing since he started gaining significant attention in the mainstream scene.
Shortly after Wallen's arrest, the very bar where he was arrested poked fun at him. The property owner, Country singer Eric Church, whom Wallen has collaborated with recently in "Man Made A Bar," seemed to take the situation lightly as he managed to pull a joke.
Days after Wallen's infamous arrest, their display marquee flashed "Our pigs fly, our chairs don't," which is a direct reference to Wallen's actions that got him arrested.
Allegedly, an inebriated Wallen threw a chair from the rooftop of Church's Chiefs' bar, landing a few meters away from a police cruiser. The deed cost Wallen three felony charges, including reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, and misdemeanor.
As word got out, Wallen's other friend, Ernest, with whom he had collaborated on "Flower Shops" and "Hangin' On," poked fun of his buddy on Instagram.
"When Morgan asks me if I wanna go to Broadway..." he wrote on the clip where he drives a car while listening to his song "Would If I Could" with Lainey Wilson. While the direct reference might confuse some, it was Ernest's caption that did it for some.
"Alexa, play 'The Chair' by George Strait," he wrote in the caption, garnering laughs from his fans online.
Jelly Roll Names Morgan Wallen's Tight Elite Circle
In a podcast appearance at "Bussin' with the Boys," Grammy-nominated singer Jelly Roll boasted about the bond that Wallen has formed with other male country music singers.
"I've said since day 1, Ernest, Hardy and Morgan have created a sense of actual genuine friendship in the music business that hasn't been seen since how Waylon and Willie were with each other," he revealed, prompting podcast host Taylor Lewan to clarify, "You're saying the best combination right now is Morgan, Hardy and Ernest?"
"Well, yeah, but it's like because of their chemistry and real friendship," Jelly Roll confirmed. "Listen, I could bore you all nerding out about this. The way Morgan took Hardy on the tour last year and then doubled back and brings them both back next year."
Jelly Roll further attested to Wallen's work ethic, saying that the embattled singer helped Hardy and Ernest when every booking agent in town refused to pitch Hardy and Ernest to come with him on his tour.
