So long, London!
Taylor Swift's new album, The Tortured Poets Department, left her fans heartbroken and furious due to the hints that her ex-boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, cheated on her. They started dating in 2016 and kept their relationship private until they split in 2023.
According to Swifties, TTPD's Anthology version suggested the previously unknown details about their breakup.
Did Joe Alwyn Cheat on Taylor Swift?
RadarOnline.com compiled the hints Swifties found in her album as the songs referenced infidelity.
According to her fans, Swift just confirmed the cheating rumors that surrounded their split in 2023 after dating for six years.
One of the songs, "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived," has the lyrics, "And you'll confess why you did it/ And I'll say good riddance/ Cos it wasn't sexy once it wasn't forbidden/ You didn't measure up in any measure of a man/ I would have died for your sins but instead I just died inside/ You deserve prison, but you won't get time/ You will slide into inboxes and slip through the bars."
"My husband is cheating I want to kill him. She's so real for this I love u Taylor," one fumed, while a second wrote, "who's The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived for?! did joe cheat?!... I'll never understand how the hell that pink faced victorian looking man dared to cheat on THE Taylor Swift. The smallest man who ever lived for real."
Some Suggest It Was Taylor Swift Who Cheated
However, some users on X sided with Alwyn and defended the actor against the haters. Most of the posts highlighted how the "So Long, London" singer admitted she cheated through her songs' lyrics.
The cheating rumors started when Alwyn's The Brutalist costar, Emma Laird, posted a photo on Instagram with the caption, "Moments in March" and a heart emoji. It featured the actor while riding a green electric scooter.
A source told The Sun on April 22, 2023, "Emma has been there for Joe since news of his split from Taylor emerged ... Joe struggles with fame and enjoyed hanging out with Emma in Hungary, where he wouldn't be recognized."
Swift and Alwyn have yet to respond to the buzz.
