Rihanna hyped fans with an update regarding her upcoming album, which would follow her 2016 project, Anti.

On Saturday, April 27, Rihanna marked her red carpet appearance for her Fenty makeup. Aside from her makeup line, fans became curious about what she would release soon.

Rihanna Teases Fans With New Album Update

Speaking with Extra TV during the event, Rihanna dropped more information about her next release and what fans should look forward to.

"It's gonna be amazing," she said of her upcoming album. "It has to be-that is the only reason it's not out yet. If I'm not feeling it and I'm not feeling like it represents the evolution, the time I spent away. There should be a show of growth, right? I want to play, and I feel like music is a playground, and I want to have fun with it and show truly where I am at."

Extra TV asked her about her potential collaborators, and Rihanna said she would know when she had the record.

Rihanna previously expected her album to arrive in 2023, saying, "I want it to be this year. Like, honestly, it'd be ridiculous if it's not this year. But I just want to have fun. I just want to make music and make videos... And I need the right background music with the visuals. I can't just go shoot a video of me talking."

However, the album did not arrive in 2023.

Meanwhile, her husband, A$AP Rocky, responded to a fan who asked him about the "Umbrella" singer's ninth album. According to the rapper, Rihanna was "working on it" already, though he did not offer more information about it.

Rihanna Confirms Met Gala Attendance

While waiting for her new album, Rihanna's fans can catch her at the upcoming Met Gala. Per the singer, she would like to keep things real simple after previously making headlines for her jaw-dropping beauty and outfits.

"Very simple... I think it's gonna come to what my makeup and what my hair is going to do. We wanna play with that, but I have no idea what I'm gonna do with that....very simple-ish...compared to everything I've ever done. I'm showing up for dinner! Shout out to Anna Wintour," she told Extra TV.
