Matty Healy feels "uncomfortable" with the renewed attention on his previous relationship with Taylor Swift after she released her newest album, The Tortured Poets Department.

While Swift has never confirmed if the songs from the album were about her short-lived romance with The 1975 frontman, Swifties have been going online with their theories about how some of the songs chronicled their whirlwind of a romance.

Matty Healy's 'Uncomfortable' With Attention on Taylor Swift

In May 2023, the Internet was taken aback when The Sun reported that Swift and Healy were going public with their relationship after The Eras Tour concerts in Nashville, Tennessee. While many did not favor the two's unlikely pairing, they watched as Swift and Healy proceeded to date until it all reportedly ended in June 2023.

Meanwhile, Healy and model Gabbriette Bechtel have reportedly been dating since September 2023. On the other hand, Swift has obviously moved on with Travis Kelce, a relationship that her fans greatly support.

However, Swift's recent album release led to a "renewed" attention to Healy's previous romance with the pop star. Healy is said to be bothered by this.

"Matty's uncomfortable with the renewed attention on his relationship [with Taylor] - especially because he's [with someone] new," an insider revealed to Us Weekly.

Swifties believe Healy was the subject of Swift's songwriting on some of The Tortured Poets Department's songs - "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived," "Down Bad," "Guilty As Sin?," "But Daddy I Love Him," "The Tortured Poets Department," "Fresh Out of the Summer," "The Black Dog," and "I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)."

Initially, there was a sense of apprehension from Healy about what Swift might have revealed on the album. However, the source shared that the 1975 vocalist was 'overjoyed' with the final outcome, creating a narrative arc of tension and relief.

The insider also added that Healy's family was "worried" that the songs from the album would "rip" the singer "apart."

"Matty has struggled with life in the public eye, and he's been doing really well, but the last thing that he needs is for every Swiftie in the world to think he's a villain," the source confirmed.

The insider disclosed that Healy was given a preview of the songs from Swift's album before its release, a gesture that he was deeply grateful for.

Matty Healy Aunt Reveals Nephew's Love Life Status

In an interview with The Daily Mail, Debbie Dedes, Healy's aunt, revealed her nephew's love life status.

"He's very happy in his new relationship, so I'm sure he will be focusing on that," Dedes said, referring to Bechtel.

Speaking about Swift and her songs about her nephew, Dedes had this to say at the time: "She writes about all her relationships, doesn't she? I don't think it will come as a shock to him at all. ... He will not be surprised by the song. Him and her know what went on."
