A newly revealed 911 call recorded Kellie Pickler screaming for help after finding her husband, Kyle Jacobs, dead.

Pickler's assistant, Sherry Caldwell, made the call around 1:20 p.m. on February 17, 2023, telling the dispatcher they needed immediate help as somebody "was shot or something."

RadarOnline.com noted that Pickler could be heard screaming in grief in the call's background.

"We just see blood and the door's closed," Caldwell continued in the audio obtained by In Touch. "It's coming out from under the door. Please hurry."

Caldwell and Pickler were reportedly scared to open the door, and the "Best Days of Your Life" singer continuously yelled, "Oh my god, oh my god."

The assistant informed the dispatcher that they knew what happened but asked them to "hurry." Pickler's husband was reportedly the only person in the bedroom at the time.

The dispatcher asked them if they thought Jacobs shot himself, leading the assistant to confirm that Jacobs had got a gun. They tried opening the door but Jacobs was seemingly behind it.

"If you can, try to get somebody to help you get that door open," the dispatcher said. "If not, we're still on the way. We're coming out. See if you can get help from a neighbor or something to get the door open."

Jacobs was declared dead due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. According to the Davidson County Medical Examiner, the 49-year-old songwriter died by suicide. The toxicology results confirmed he had no drugs in his system at the time of his death, but it noted he had a history of "pseudoseizures, gastrointestinal bleeding, elevated liver enzymes, and chronic alcohol use."

In a statement to People months after the loss, the American Idol alum opened up about the beautiful lesson Jacobs taught her.

"One of the most beautiful lessons my husband taught me was in a moment of crisis, if you don't know what to do, 'do nothing, just be still,'" she said. "I have chosen to heed his advice."

Pickler also expressed her gratitude to everyone, sharing, "Thank you to my family, friends, and supporters, for the countless letters, calls, and messages that you have sent my way. It has truly touched my soul and it's helping me get through the darkest time in my life. As many of you have told me, you are all in my prayers."

Pickler and Jacobs got engaged in June 2010 and wed on New Year's Day in 2011.
