Rapper Cardi B believes that after her breakthrough in the music industry, she kicked the door wide open for female rappers to secure record labels.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, the "Bongos" rapper discussed her impact on the music industry, specifically in the female rap lane.

"These labels was not believing in repping new rap artists," she claimed. "People from every single label have f-king told me this s-t in my face. They started signing new female rappers after I got signed."

Cardi also doubled down on the online debate about whether these young artists are capable of making big in the industry.

"Whether some b-ches could be the greatest rappers [or] they just make good music - at the end of the f-king day, guess what? They're in your playlist right now," she added.

Rapsody also echoed Cardi's claims in a previous Billboard interview, emphasizing that Cardi's advocacy for young female rappers has played a cruicial role in their success and breakthroughs.

"I think the way that Cardi supported so many women also helped as well. Because of who she was and the success she had and to speak people's names and to work with the artists that she did, it definitely made room and space for other artists," Rapsody shared.

Cardi recently celebrated being part of the elite Billion Streams Club on Spotify. She earned four plaques for her songs "Girls Like You" with Maroon 5, "WAP" with Megan Thee Stallion, "Taki Taki" with Selena Gomez, Ozuna, and DJ Snake, and "I Like It" with Bad Bunny and J Balvin, each surpassing one billion streams.

"I never thought that a record would be so big. You always feel like, 'Would any of my songs ever have this power again?' So for a billion people to sing word for word, it's just like amazing and a reassurance that you could do it," the rapper reflected on her success.

Cardi then thanked her fans for the constant support and appreciation they have showered her since 2018.

"I just want to say thank you to my fans because, sometimes, I could be a little bit hard on myself. Sometimes I don't appreciate who I've become because I just feel like, wow, the more money, the more problems. The more fame, the more depression," Cardi said.
