Jane Wiedlin, the Go-Go's pixie-like guitarist-vocalist, celebrated her 66th birthday by posting a topless photo of herself on her social media accounts.

Sporting purple hair and turquoise dangling earrings, Wiedlin is seen in the birthday suit photo cupping her breasts with her hands.

"Happy birthday to me! 66 today. The number keeps getting bigger but I keep getting better. Thanks for all the lovely BD greetings. I love you all!" she wrote. Wiedlin credited the photo to her "wonderful friend Giovanna Giordano."

The post won the approval of fans and some of her bandmates. "vavavooomm jane in the room. have a wild joyful birthday week!" wrote fellow Go-Go Kathy Valentine.

Fellow artist Peaches also approved, with the comment, "Yay! Happy Birthday" with three fire emojis.

A wise guy fan on Facebook commented, "You need those hands to play bass...here...use mine."

"I play guitar," Wiedlin shot back, setting the record straight.

Aside from playing guitar and providing backing vocals in the Go-Go's, Wiedlin also co-wrote the band's first hit and one of their most well-known songs, "Our Lips Are Sealed," with the late Terry Hall, then of the Specials. (Hall also recorded a slowed down version of the song with his post-Specials outfit the Fun Boy Three.)

The Go-Go's version of the song reached No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 and helped spur the rise of the band's debut album, Beauty and the Beat, to the top of the Billboard 200. Wiedlin knew the album would be a hit, although some of the executives at their label, IRS Records, weren't as confident. "I said to one of the record company executives, 'We are going to go platinum,' and he just laughed in my face," she recalled.

Prior to the Go-Go's first split in 1985, Wiedlin left the band to pursue a solo career, scoring the top 10 hit "Rush Hour," and releasing four solo albums.

She also pursued work as an actress, appearing in Clue n in 1985 as a singing telegram and as Joan of Arc in 1989's Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.

Wiedlin rejoined the Go-Go's for a series of reunions in the '90s and 2000s that culminated with the band's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021. The band was also inducted into the California Hall of Fame this year.
