Jennifer Lopez is keeping mum about her ex, Sean "Diddy" Combs' assault video of Cassie Ventura. But this does not mean she does not have strong feelings over it.
According to a new report, in reality, Lopez has been left deeply disturbed and heartbroken by the footage showing her ex-boyfriend, Diddy, engaging in a violent altercation with his then-girlfriend, Ventura, in a hotel corridor.
The release of CNN footage capturing the artist, whose real name is Sean Combs, 54, throwing Cassie to the ground and violently kicking her has triggered widespread outrage. So many have taken to their social media to express their views.
However, Lopez, 54, who was in a relationship with the rapper from 1999 to 2001, reportedly has no intention of publicly addressing the distressing video or any of the accusations leveled against him in recent months.
"Among everything else that Jen is dealing with in her life, she is aware and has seen what Diddy did and is tremendously disappointed," a source exclusively explained to Daily Mail UK.
"Jen is not going to address the accusations or take time to talk about them because it is not her story to tell," the source added.
It's not that she just won't react though. She just feels she cannot just speak up out of the blue.
The source explained, "If she is asked about it in a future interview, she will cross that path as and when it happens, but she won't address it publicly and will not put herself in that conversation on purpose."
Video footage emerged on Friday depicting a shirtless Diddy, draped in a towel, pursuing Cassie, 37, down the corridors of the InterContinental Hotel in Century City in 2016.
In the disturbing footage, the artist is observed grabbing her by the back of her head and forcefully slamming her onto the ground as she attempted to enter an elevator. He then proceeds to kick her while she remains motionless on the floor before dragging her back to their room by her hoodie.
Following the public outcry, Diddy issued a video apology on Sunday, acknowledging that he was in a dark place at the time and expressing his repentance, stating that he had sought solace in his faith for redemption.
In the wake of the apology video, social media users criticized it as insincere.
Moreover, according to legal experts, this move might prove costly for him in his ongoing lawsuits.
"I would not have had my client give a statement on the heels of the release of that video. And I certainly wouldn't have had him release that statement because I think it will be fodder for future examinations and deposition testimony, none of which is going to be good for Mr. Combs," Chew, the attorney who represented Depp in his defamation trial against his ex Amber Heard, made this statement during a conversation with Law&Crime Network.
