A member of Sean "Diddy" Combs' inner circle shared that Combs believes the video depicting him in a physical altercation with then-girlfriend Cassie doesn't provide the complete context of the incident.
Reportedly, the controversial music mogul is deeply upset, particularly regarding the video. He maintains that it doesn't accurately portray the entire sequence of events.
According to The Post, While he's not justifying his actions, he asserts that the video was selectively chosen. He firmly believes that there was a deliberate and hidden motive behind the timing of the video's release.
"He's incensed. Especially about the video. He insists it doesn't tell the full story about what happened. Not that he's excusing it, but he says that it's a selected video," the source revealed to The Post.
"It's his position that there was an agenda in releasing the video when it was released," the insider explained.
"But ultimately, he knows that his big concern is the raids on his house; the Cassie video is just a distraction."

In a troubling video released by CNN on May 19, Sean "Diddy" Combs, 54, was shown engaging in a physical altercation with Cassie, born Casandra Ventura, in March 2016.
The footage depicts Combs pursuing the "Me & U" singer, 37, through the corridors of the now-defunct InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles, clad only in a towel around his waist.
Combs has since addressed the video, not denying it and even saying sorry. The problem is that he did not name Ventura, which enraged some.
"It's so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that," Diddy said in a video on Instagram. "I was f-ed up. I hit rock bottom - but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable."
Even though the mogul did not say sorry to her directly, Ventura is said to be very relieved that the video was released.
"My only ask is that EVERYONE open your heart to believing victims the first time," she wrote on her own social media. "It takes a lot of heart to tell the truth out of a situation that you were powerless in."
It's not clear what Combs meant about the video being a mere distraction, but the video's release occurred several weeks subsequent to Homeland Security's raids on Combs' residences in LA and Miami as part of an ongoing sex trafficking probe.
In November 2023, Ventura initiated legal action against her former partner, alleging rape and abuse. Despite Combs' refutation of her claims, a settlement was reached the following day.
