A female security guard faces backlash after escorting K-Pop star Yoona off the red carpet at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
Yoona, a former member of Girls Generation, was there for the screening of "Horizon: An American Saga." The same guard had previous altercations with singer Kelly Rowland and actress Maissel Taveras.
In the photos and videos that have since gone viral on social media, the female security guard placed her hand in front of the Korean singer, making it difficult for her to have her photos taken by photographers.
After seeing the guard's hand, the singer looked surprised. She tried to bid a last-minute goodbye to the press when she arrived at the top of the steps.
On social media, people have slammed the security guard for being "racist" toward the three women.
"Finding out that security racist woman at Cannes did the same thing to yoona on the red carpet??? Like why is she still there and not fired after Kelly rowland's situation ????" a user tweeted on X.
"That's the same bitch who kept blocking Yoona & refused to let her say hi/take pics? Doing all this to stop women of color from having their own little moment.. Yeah they better not hire her racist ass again," another fan posted.

Very recently, Taveras was shoved by the same security guard out of the Palais des Festivals staircase. The security guard hurried the actress after she tried to show the press her long train, which had the likeness of Jesus on it.
Throughout her trip upstairs, the guard kept her arm up. After a heated argument, Taveras pushed the guard's arm away.
Yoona and Taveras were the second and third women of color who were whisked away by the same security guard at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
Last week, Rowland made headlines after an altercation with the security guard. She has since spoken up about the encounter to the AP News Entertainment.
"The woman knows what happened, I know what happened," Rowland explained. "And I have a boundary. And I stand by those boundaries. And that is it."
According to the Mea Culpa actress, the other women who attended that carpet, whom she had claimed "did not quite look like" her, "didn't get scolded or pushed off or told to get off."
"And I stood my ground and she felt like she had to stand hers. But I stood my ground. And that was it," Rowland concluded.
