After Jennifer Lopez canceled her summer tour amid reports of an impending divorce from Ben Affleck, news has it that Affleck does not think highly of his wife's career trajectory.
The official statement regarding Lopez's canceled tour is that she finds it necessary to focus more on her family now, which somehow confirms that something is wrong with her marital life.
According to Daily Mail UK, Ben Affleck has clashed with his wife Jennifer Lopez's team, expressing the need for her to "overhaul her career" amid their marital challenges following the singer's recent setbacks.
The 54-year-old actress recently canceled her US tour "to be with her children and family" after facing criticism for her album and the panning of her Netflix movie, Atlas.
According to The Sun, Affleck, aged 51, has been "butting heads" with Jen's creative team for some time, resulting in tensions behind the scenes.
The insider said, "[Ben] just wants what's best for her and feels she's doing a lot of mediocre projects and is surrounded by yes people who are also sometimes making decisions for her."
"Jen is also often doing 50 things at once," the source added. Affleck aggravates the issue by not working that much.
The insider said, "Ben is not working as much by choice and she's overworking - so their priorities are different, even though she has been dedicated to her marriage and kids, she's very busy."
Lopez released This Is Me... Now in February, accompanied by a musical film titled This Is Me... Now: A Love Story and a documentary called The Greatest Love Story Never Told.
However, the album debuted at number 38 on the Billboard chart, marking her first LP not to reach the top 20.
The documentary was financed by Ben and Matt Damon's company, Artists Equity, while Jennifer self-financed her film This Is Me... Now: A Love Story for $20 million.
However, Affleck is not entirely right about Lopez's lackluster music career. The decision to cancel the tour was not based on ticket sales, as the tour performed strongly in most key cities, with a notable uptick in sales.
Initially billed as "This Is Me... Now" to support her recent album and film, rumors circulated that the tour was struggling to sell tickets. However, after rebranding as a greatest hits tour named "This Is Me... Live," ticket sales notably improved.
