Talks about Madonna's biopic hit the spotlight again after the project was previously scrapped.
Following the last show of Madonna's Celebration Tour, a new report confirmed the details of the previously canceled film biopic about the Queen of Pop. The project was indefinitely put on hold due to the singer's massive world tour.
According to Bizarre editor Ellie Henman of The Sun, the "Back That Up to The Beat" singer began focusing on the biopic again - with Julia Garner as the actress who will play the songstress' role.
Garner, per Henman, secretly took dancing and singing lessons. Madonna has also scheduled meetings with Universal Pictures before the expected finalization of the script in the summer.
"Madonna has only just finished her tour, but in her mind it is on to the next project and fulfilling her dream of getting the biopic made," a Hollywood source said. "Julia is still her lead actress and they have remained in touch for the past year, talking through ideas. They are committed to creating some magic."
The editor quoted the insider who claimed Madonna felt like Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody and Elton John's Rocketman paved the way for her and her upcoming biopic.
With that, the 65-year-old "La Isla Bonita" singer reportedly wants to make her own biopic "more unique and dramatic."
"A range of secret meets are being organised with Universal Pictures to get the project nailed down," the source continued. "There is a lot to work on with locking down the rest of the cast, arranging shoots and completing the script but the hope is that they can start filming in the next 12 months."

The editor added that Madonna will also direct the film.
Madonna and her team have yet to confirm the development of the biopic, but Variety previously confirmed the project's postponement amid the singer's desire to make a film about her life.
The biopic was first announced in 2020, though the talks about the development continued until 2022.
Once created, the biopic film will become Madonna's new project after working on Filth and Wisdom in 2008 and W.E. in 2011.
In other news, Madonna has been linked to British boxer Richard Riakporhe following her split from Josh Popper due to her hectic schedule.
