A lawyer commented on Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's marriage as divorce talks started surrounding the couple.

Divorce attorney Holly Davis recently shed light on Lopez and Affleck's reported marital issues, sharing how the romance "may be doomed" in the first place due to the pair's different approach to love and fame.

Before the couple tied the knot in 2022, they were previously engaged in 2002 and planned their wedding afterward. However, they decided to cancel the ceremony due to the intense and relentless media attention surrounding them.

"Jennifer's desire to have the most intimate details of their relationship be a part of her public storyline and a part of her brand was made obvious when she released the movie This Is Me ... Now, which serves up their relationship as a product and a brand," Davis continued.

According to the lawyer, Lopez's decision to create the project was "very natural for her." However, the fact that she invested $20 million of her own money into the project reportedly affected the marriage.

The attorney explained how the blame game and defensiveness could ensue if one person advised a partner about a project that eventually flopped.

After Lopez's album and documentary flopped, she shocked the public by announcing she canceled her This Is Me... Live: The Greatest Hits tour to focus on her family.

"She has a believable reason for canceling and she gets extra time to be with her family and make a decision about her relationship," Davis went on. "When people take time away from work to focus on their family, it doesn't necessarily mean they are committed to saving the marriage. It could mean they are emotionally preparing for a divorce and change in living situation."

Despite Lopez and Affleck's complicated marital woes, Davis said a divorce would be easy for the pair as they have prenups in place. Thus, the separation would reportedly be "predetermined and undramatic" if it happened.

"The real drama lies in whether these two stars are going to pull the plug again on their relationship after making such a big deal about their everlasting love story on film and in music," Davis added.

Amid the buzz, Affleck and Lopez were pictured kissing when they attended Samuel's basketball game in Santa Monica, Calif.
