Ariana DeBose is returning as the host of the Tony Awards, after hosting the biggest night for Broadway twice in the past already.

In a statement, DeBose detailed her excitement about hosting the upcoming 77th Tony Awards.

"I couldn't pass up the chance to host the Tonys one more time at Lincoln Center. I'm excited to collaborate with the team to create an incredible celebration of this season's achievements on Broadway for our community and for everyone at home," DeBose said in a statement.

DeBose picked up a Tony Award nomination for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical in 2018 for Summer: The Donna Summer Musical as Disco Donna. Since then, she has yet to bag her own Tony Award.

Despite not winning yet, DeBose received significant attention and acclaim when she played Anita in Steven Spielberg's 2021 adaptation of West Side Story with Rachel Zegler, Mike Faist, and Ansel Elgort. DeBose won a Golden Globe Award, a BAFTA Award, a Critics' Choice Movie Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

After her now-iconic BAFTA performance in 2023, DeBose has been a staple as a host in awards shows. She started hosting the Tony Awards in 2022 and was rehired to do so again in 2023. For hosting the 76th Annual Tony Awards in 2023, she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Special (Live).

Apart from DeBose, Billboard reported that Julianne Hough and Utkarsh Ambudkar will host The Tony Awards: Act One, the live pre-show of the annual awards show. Like DeBose, Hough will be hosting the live pre-show for the third time, as she also started hosting in 2022 and reprised her role in 2023.

This would be Ambudkar's first time hosting, as Hough has hosted the past two years with Skylar Astin and Darren Criss, respectively.

The Tony Awards: Act One will be streaming on Pluto TV on June 16 from 6:30-8 p.m. ET/3:30-5 p.m. PT.

Meanwhile, The 2024 Tony Awards will be airing live from the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City through CBS from 8-11 p.m. ET and streaming on Paramount+.

Hell's Kitchen and Stereophonic are the most nominated projects this year, with 13 nominations each.
